Game 1: Philadelphia Phillies at Miami Marlins odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Friday’s Philadelphia Phillies at Miami Marlins sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets for Game 1 of a doubleheader.

The Philadelphia Phillies (21-19) and Miami Marlins (20-19) play the first game of a doubleheader at Marlins Park Friday at 5:10 p.m. ET. We analyze the Phillies-Marlins MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Phillies at Marlins: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Aaron Nola vs. LHP Trevor Rogers

Nola has posted a 4-3 record, 2.74 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with 67 strikeouts across 49 1/3 innings over eight starts. He ranks 10th in the league in strikeouts and 15th in ERA.

  • Nola hasn’t faced the Marlins since July 24, his first start of the season. He allowed four earned runs on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a 5-2 loss.
  • Nola lost his last start, but he has been solid over the past three. He is 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA, six walks and 27 strikeouts over 20 1/3 innings during the span.

Also see: BaseballHQ Fantasy Baseball

Rogers has posted a 1-0 record, 3.00 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 21 strikeouts across 15 innings over three starts.

  • Rogers has built up his stamina, pitching six innings for his first quality start last time out in a no-decision at the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday. He struck out a career-high 10 batters, too.
  • The Marlins are 2-1 in Rogers’ three starts this season, including 2-0 vs. NL East teams.

Prediction

Phillies 5, Marlins 3

Moneyline (ML)

The PHILLIES (-152) are moderate favorites in the doubleheader opener behind Nola, as they look to bounce back from a stunning 7-6 loss against the Marlins (+135). Despite Friday’s loss, the Phils are 11-4 in the past 15 against NL East foes, and 5-1 in their past six against left-handed starting pitchers.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on Philadelphia returns a profit of $6.58, while a $10 wager on Miami nets a profit of $13.50 if it wins.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The PHILLIES (-1.5, +135) are a nice play in the doubleheader opener. The Phils were involved in a twinbill Tuesday, splitting with the Boston Red Sox. They won Game 1 and lost the nightcap. You’ll be going against the grain here, as Philly’s past four wins have been one-run games.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6 (-110) is the play as Philadelphia has hit the Over in four of their past five games, while the Over is 5-1-1 in Miami’s past seven. This seven-inning doubleheader opener should see a fair share of runs.

San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The San Francisco Giants (23-21) and San Diego Padres (28-17) kick off a four-game set at Petco Park Thursday at 9:10 p.m. ET. We analyze the Giants-Padres MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Giants at Padres: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Trevor Cahill vs. RHP Chris Paddack

The veteran Cahill hasn’t factored into any decisions while posting a 2.65 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 20 strikeouts over 17 innings through five starts.

  • Cahill has worked 4 or fewer innings in four of his five appearances to date; however, the Giants are 4-0 across his past four starts.
  • Cahill’s longest outing was Aug. 23, allowing just one earned run, one hit and two walks with eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Also see: BaseballHQ Fantasy Baseball

Paddack has managed a 3-4 record, 4.75 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 48 strikeouts across 47 1/3 innings in his nine starts.

  • Paddack allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks with six strikeouts across five innings in a no-decision at AT&T Park in San Francisco in his second start of the season.

Prediction

Giants 5, Padres 4

Moneyline (ML)

The Padres (-189) are the overwhelming favorites for this series opener. Both of these teams are red hot, as San Diego has won four in a row, and San Francisco (+170) has picked up five consecutive victories to move two games over .500 and into the thick of the postseason race. The GIANTS (+170) are the better value here, as they are 5-1 in their past six showings at Petco Park.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on San Francisco returns a profit of $17, while a $10 wager on San Francisco nets a profit of $5.30 if it wins.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

If you’re not feeling the GIANTS (+1.5, -125) on the road straight up, they’re rather affordable on the run line. Even if they lose by one run you still win.

Over/Under (O/U)

O/U 9 (-110) is the line for this one, and I feel it’s going to be right on the number. San Francisco is averaging 5.6 runs per game during its five-game win streak, allowing 3.0 runs per outing. The Padres have racked up 6.3 runs per game during their four-game win streak, yielding 3.0 runs per contest.

PASS.

Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee Brewers odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee Brewers with MLB betting picks, tips and bets.

The Pittsburgh Pirates (9-20) continue their series against the Milwaukee Brewers (14-17) at Miller Park on Saturday with a 7:10 p.m. ET first pitch. We analyze the Pirates-Brewers MLB betting odds and lines, with betting advice and tips around the matchup.

Pirates at Brewers: Projected starting pitchers

RHP JT Brubaker vs. LHP Brett Anderson

Brubaker hasn’t factored into a decision while posting a 4.80 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 16 strikeouts across 15 innings in three starts and two relief appearances.

  • Brubaker faced the Brewers last Sunday, allowing just two earned runs, four hits and a walk with a season-high six strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision result – the Pirates won 5-4.
  • Brubaker hasn’t lasted longer than four innings in any of his five appearances, so the bullpen will be leaned upon heavily. Pittsburgh’s bullpen ranks 22nd in the majors with a 5.18 ERA.

Anderson is 2-2 with a 3.52 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 17 strikeouts across 23 innings in five starts.

  • Anderson won his last two starts, yielding just three runs in 12 innings – he pitched six innings in each contest, winning at the Minnesota Twins 9-3 on Aug. 19 and beating the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 at home Monday.
  • Anderson is 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA in five career starts vs. the Pirates. He faced the Bucs once in 2019, holding them to just one run on four hits and two walks in six innings of a 14-1 victory.

Special West Virginia Promotion! Bet $1 on the Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers matchup, WIN $100 (in free bets) if either team hits a home run during their game. Prediction

Brewers 8, Pirates 6

Moneyline (ML)

The BREWERS (-189) exacted a little payback with a 9-1 win Friday to make up for a three-game sweep at the hands of the Pirates (+170) in the Steel City last weekend. The Bucs are just 8-20 in the past 28 against left-handed starting pitchers, so look for the good times to continue to roll for the Brew Crew.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on the Brewers returns a net profit of just $5.29, while a $10 play on the Pirates returns a profit of $17 if they prevail.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The BREWERS (-1.5, +105) are worth a look. They won by eight in Friday’s series opener, and they have covered the run line in three of their past four victories.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 9 (-106) is the play. The Over hit Friday night, and the Over is 4-1-2 in seven meetings between these two clubs this season. There’s no reason to believe a pitchers’ duel will suddenly break out in this one.

Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Milwaukee Brewers (11-14) and Pittsburgh Pirates (6-17) wrap up a three-game set at PNC Park with a 1:35 p.m. ET first pitch. We analyze the Brewers-Pirates MLB betting odds and lines, with betting advice and tips around the matchup.

Brewers at Pirates: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Corbin Burnes vs. RHP JT Brubaker

Burnes, not to be mistaken with the dude actor from L.A. Law or Roger Dorn from Major League fame, has no decisions with a 3.00 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 21 innings over two starts and three relief appearances to date.

  • Burnes is still being stretched out, as he hasn’t lasted longer than 5 1/3 innings in any of his appearances. He has allowed three or fewer runs in each outing.
  • Burnes has allowed a total of just 10 hits in his 21 innings of work, but he has also issued 14 walks, including at least three in four of his five appearances.

Brubaker also has a no-decision in each of his two starts or two relief appearances, turning in a 4.91 ERA with six walks and 10 strikeouts across 11 innings.

  • Brubaker has been able to limit the damage so far this season, serving up just one home run. However, his control has been an issue, as his walks have increased by one in every appearance this season.
  • Brubaker is more of an opener than a true starter, lasting just three innings in each of his two starts. That means it’s a bullpen game for the Bucs, and Pittsburgh’s bullpen ranks 25th in the majors with a 5.65 ERA.

Prediction

Brewers 7, Pirates 5

Moneyline (ML)

The BREWERS (-154) strolled into the Steel City thinking they probably could get back on track against the cellar-dwelling Pirates (+140), but now they’re simply playing Sunday to salvage a game in the series. The Bucs can’t sweep them, right?

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Brewers returns a net profit of just $6.49, while a $10 play on the Pirates returns a profit of $14.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The BREWERS (-1.5, +100) should be able to do damage against a poor bullpen for the Pirates (+1.5, -121). Of course, they should have been able to win the first two games, too, but that’s baseball. Forget what you saw from the Brew Crew the past two days and bet them on the run line.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 9 (-110) is the play, as Pittsburgh is likely to have to turn to its bullpen from the fourth inning on. That’s not a good thing. And even if those relievers shockingly shut things down, the Pirates offense is suddenly alive, posting 19 runs over the first two games of this series.

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and bets.

The Boston Red Sox (9-18) and Baltimore Orioles (12-14) square off again Saturday at Camden Yards with a 7:35 p.m. ET first pitch. We analyze the Red Sox-Orioles MLB betting odds and lines, with betting advice and tips around the matchup.

Red Sox at Orioles: Projected starting pitchers

LHP Martin Perez vs. RHP Alex Cobb

The southpaw Perez is a subpar 2-3 with a 4.07 ERA and 1.27 WHIP while issuing 14 walks with 17 strikeouts across 24 1/3 innings in five starts.

  • The Venezuelan was on the receiving end of a 7-2 beating from the O’s on July 25 at Fenway Park, coughing up five runs – four earned – and six hits in just five innings.
  • Perez has factored into the decision in each of his five outings, including losses in each of his past two.

Cobb has posted a 1-2 record, 3.76 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 21 strikeouts across 26 1/3 innings over five starts.

  • Arguably Cobb’s best start of the season came July 25 in Boston, allowing just one solo home run, four hits and no walks with six strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a 7-2 victory.
  • Cobb is still searching for his first quality start of the season, and he hadn’t pitched more than 5 1/3 innings until his outing Monday against the Blue Jays when he worked 6 2/3 frames.

Prediction

Red Sox 8, Orioles 6

Moneyline (ML)

The RED SOX (-112) have posted three straight victories, which wouldn’t be news in recent seasons, but this year it is their longest streak of success yet. They have humped up on the Orioles (+100) the past two nights, outscoring the Birds 15-6. They’ll continue the conga line around the bases Saturday.

New to sports betting? A $11.20 bet on the Red Sox to win straight up nets a return of $10.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Each of Boston’s wins during their streak has been by three or more runs, so back the RED SOX (-1.5, +125) at plus-money if you like them. In fact, each of their previous seven wins has been by two or more runs.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 10 (-110) is the way to be here. The BoSox are averaging 6.8 runs per game across the past four, and this pitching staff still ranks 29th in the majors with a 5.97 ERA and last with a 1.58 WHIP. The Orioles aren’t much better, posting 4.99 ERA, good for 21nd in the league.

Previewing Saturday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Pittsburgh Pirates sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Milwaukee Brewers (11-13) and Pittsburgh Pirates (5-17) continue their series at PNC Park on Saturday with a 4:05 p.m. ET first pitch on FS1. We analyze the Brewers-Pirates MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Brewers at Pirates: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Josh Lindblom vs. LHP Derek Holland

Lindblom has posted a 1-0 record with a 6.62 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 28 strikeouts across 17 2/3 innings over four outings.

  • Lindblom allowed five earned runs and three hits with four walks and eight strikeouts across five innings in a no-decision against the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field last time out. He has managed seven or more strikeouts in each of his past three starts despite a total of just 14 innings.
  • The Brewers are 3-0 in Lindblom’s past three outings and they have posted 20 total runs of support during the span.

Also see: BaseballHQ Fantasy Baseball

Holland enters play with a 0-1 record, 7.36 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 18 1/3 innings in three starts and one relief appearance.

  • Holland was shelled for nine runs, 13 hits and five homers in five innings in a loss to the Detroit Tigers on Aug. 8. He was temporarily bumped to the bullpen, working two scoreless innings Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians.
  • This will be just Holland’s second appearance against a divisional foe after three straight outings against AL Central teams.

Prediction

Brewers 9, Pirates 6

Moneyline (ML)

The BREWERS (-162) were stunned by the Pirates (+145) on Friday night, as the home side romped 7-2 for just their fifth win of the season. Don’t expect it to happen again. Milwaukee is having its own issues at the moment, dropping three of the past four, but it has an All-Star laden lineup and it will outslug lowly Pittsburgh Saturday. And hey, the Brew Crew seem to get excited when Lindblom is on the bump, winning each of his past three starts.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on Milwaukee returns a profit of $6.17 if it picks up the victory.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The BREWERS (-1.5, -110) are just about even money on the run line. They’ll come back Saturday with a vengeance, especially against the very hittable Holland. Expect Milwaukee’s 3B coach to be doing the windmill plenty. However, know that four of the Brewers past five wins have been by one run, so maybe go a little lightly here.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 9.5 (-110) is the best thing going in this one. Hitters are tuning up Holland at a .274/.338/.562 clip, and he has served up six dongs in 18 1/3 innings. Lindblom is a little better, as his opponent slash line is .254/.359/.463, but he has served up four long balls in his 17 2/3 innings.

Milwaukee Brewers at Minnesota Twins odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Tuesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Minnesota Twins sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Milwaukee Brewers (10-10) and Minnesota Twins (15-8) begin a three-game interleague series at Target Field on Tuesday at 8:10 p.m. ET. We analyze the Brewers-Twins MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Brewers at Twins: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Corbin Burnes vs. RHP Kenta Maeda

Burnes will make his second start and fifth appearance of the season. He allowed one run, two hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision July 25 in his first start on the road against the Chicago Cubs.

  • Burnes has had some control problems, issuing 11 walks across 16 innings, but he has managed to rack up 24 strikeouts while serving up just one homer.
  • Opponents have managed a .151 batting average in 16 innings in his four appearances so far this season.

Also see: BaseballHQ Fantasy Baseball

Maeda has been tremendous for the Twins, going 3-0 with a 2.66 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 21 strikeouts across 23 2/3 innings in his first four starts for the Twins.

  • Maeda allowed just two earned runs, five hits and a walk with five strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings in a 12-2 win at Milwaukee last Wednesday in a victory.
  • In Wednesday’s win against the Brewers, Maeda threw 63 of his 85 pitches for strikes, including first-pitch strikes to 20 of the 26 batters he faced.

Prediction

Twins 8, Brewers 3

Moneyline (ML)

The TWINS (-167) have been cruising this season, and Maeda is a great reason why Minnesota ranks third in the majors with a 3.33 ERA and they’re fifth with a 1.13 WHIP. Minnesota also ranks first in the majors with only two errors, and that’s a great recipe for victories. The Brewers (+150) are a tempting play given that they have four consecutive wins, but with an inexperienced starter in Burnes, they’ll be no match against Maeda and the Twins.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on Minnesota returns a profit of $5.99 if they pick up the victory.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The TWINS (-1.5, +120) are a strong play against the Brewers (+1.5, -143) in this interleague series opener. While Milwaukee has four straight wins by one run, Minnesota won 12-2 behind Maeda at Miller Park last time out, and the Twins won two of three in that series with each of the games decided by two runs or more.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 9 (-110) hit in each of the past two games of the set last week at Miller Park, and four of the previous five meetings between these border rivals. There is a little bit of risk considering Maeda has pitched so well this season, but the Twins offense has the potential to take care of the over all by themselves.

San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Angels odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Monday’s San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Angels sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The San Francisco Giants (8-15) and Los Angeles Angels (7-15) kick off a two-game interleague series at Angels Stadium Monday at 9:40 p.m. ET, and the teams will head to the Bay Area for two more mid-week games. We analyze the Giants-Angels MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Giants at Angels: Projected starting pitchers

LHP Tyler Anderson vs. RHP Griffin Canning

Anderson heads in with an 0-1 record, 3.63 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with nine strikeouts across 17 1/3 innings in three starts and two relief appearances so far.

  • Anderson has turned in five innings in each of his past two outings after logging just 1 2/3 innings in his first start July 24 on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
  • Anderson has yielded at least one walk in each of his five appearance, totaling 11 free passes over 17 1/3 frames.

Also see: BaseballHQ Fantasy Baseball

Canning has managed an 0-3 record, 4.42 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 18 1/3 innings over four starts so far this season.

  • Canning has gotten out of the fifth inning just once in four starts, turning in his only quality start of the season Aug. 1 in a no-decision against the Houston Astros.
  • The Angels are 1-3 in Canning’s four starts this season, going 1-1 in his two assignments at home.

Giants at Angels: Key injuries

  • 2B Yolmer Sanchez (back) out

Prediction

Giants 8, Angels 7

Moneyline (ML)

The GIANTS (+155) and Angels (-176) have each been disappointing, but San Francisco was actually expected to struggle. The Halos invested plenty in the offseason to improve their team, but they have yet to jell. Pitching has been a problem, and Canning has been knocked around pretty good. Anderson has at least been serviceable, giving his team a chance in his previous two appearances. This might be a slugfest with the visitors scratching out a rare road win.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on San Francisco returns a profit of $15.50 if the Giants upset the Angels.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The Giants (+1.5, -134) aren’t worth the risk, as it’s just too much chalk to eat. This will be a slugfest, and if you like the Giants like I do, just play them straight up. No need to get cute.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 10 (-110) is the way to go in this one. While San Francisco is so-so offensively, posting 4.39 runs per game offensively, they rank 29th in the majors in ERA at 5.69. It doesn’t help that they are also dead-last defensively with 21 errors. That’s a recipe for a losing record, which they have, and a recipe for plenty of over results as well.

Athletics at Giants: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Frankie Montas vs. RHP Johnny Cueto

Montas owns a 2-1 record with a 1.57 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 22 strikeouts across 23 innings in four starts. The A’s are 3-1 in those four outings.

  • Montas has made only one start on the road, allowing one earned run, four hits and four walks with a season-high nine strikeouts over seven innings at the Seattle Mariners on Aug. 3.
  • Montas has posted back-to-back quality starts and he has whiffed at least five batters in three of his four outings so far.

Cueto has posted a 1-0 record, 5.40 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 14 strikeouts across 18 1/3 innings over four starts.

  • Cueto has made just one appearance at home in 2020, yielding four earned runs, four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in a season-low 3 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the San Diego Padres on July 29.
  • Cueto hasn’t faced the A’s since July 22, 2018, when he allowed four earned runs, six hits and three homers across seven innings in a no-decision.

Prediction

Athletics 7, Giants 4

Moneyline (ML)

The ATHLETICS (-189) are a little more expensive than I am comfortable with in making plays. My ceiling is usually -170, but I’ll make an exception for this Bay Bridge interleague series opener. Montas has been spinning it well so far this season, while Cueto is still knocking off rust after being limited in 2019 and he has not quite rounded into form.

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on Oakland returns a profit of just $5.29, while a $10 wager on San Francisco nets a profit of $17 if it wins.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The ATHLETICS (-1.5, -110) salvaged the series set at the Los Angeles Angels, winning 8-4 Thursday. In their past three wins, the A’s have won by two or more runs, and seven of their past eight victories have been by two or more runs. Look for the A’s to add to those numbers.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 8.5 (-110) is the play as the A’s have hit the Over in three of their past four outings. While the Giants have struggled offensively, averaging just 4.25 runs per game to rank 23rd in the majors, they’re a dismal 24th in the league in ERA (5.10) and 26th in WHIP (1.42). They’re giving up a ton of runs, so keep thumping the Over in Frisco games.

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago White Sox odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago White Sox sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Milwaukee Brewers (4-5) close out a four-game, home-and-home set with the Chicago White Sox (7-5) Thursday at 8:10 p.m. ET at Guaranteed Rate Field. We analyze the Brewers-White Sox betting odds and lines, with MLB picks and best bets.

Brewers at White Sox: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Josh Lindblom vs. LHP Gio Gonzalez

Lindblom owns a career ERA of 4.12 across seven starts and 108 relief appearances.

  • In his only other appearance of the season, the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder exited in the fourth inning with cramping in his back. That was July 28 at Pittsburgh (3 2/3 IP, 3H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K).
  • Both bullpens are relatively well rested for this contest, but the core arms for the Brewers could be a little more spent. With Lindblom’s back issue and his coming off a bit of a layoff, the Milwaukee bullpen could be exposed.

Gonzalez has appeared in two games this season – one in a 3 2/3-inning relief appearance and one as a starter. He has an ERA of 7.36. The veteran southpaw logged an 87 1/3-frame ERA of 3.50 in 2019; he owns a 3.70 mark over a 12-year Major League career.

  • Current Milwaukee bats own a singles-heavy .686 OPS against Gonzalez.
  • The Brewers typically perform better against lefty pitchers, but due to injuries, Gonzalez gets to face a Cream City crew sans Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun. Both typically feast on southpaw pitching.

Brewers at White Sox: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

Moneyline (ML)

The Brewers have scored just seven runs over their three previous games against Chicago (a win and two losses). Betting-wise, the White Sox are a 15.3% return on investment through a dozen games. The lean is on Chicago here, but better value for Thursday’s matchup can be found with the run line. AVOID THE WHITE SOX (-118).

New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on Chicago pays out a profit of $8.47.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Figure on the score for this one edging into double figures, and give Chicago an edge in the bullpen department. The Pale Hose were shut out, 1-0, Wednesday but had averaged 5.4 runs per game on the strength of an .803 OPS over the 10 games prior. MAKE A PLAY ON CHICAGO -1.5 (+120).

Over/Under (O/U)

Shading the Over 9 makes sense here, but see if you can wait out something closer to a 10-cent price. LET’S PUT A LINE-WATCH ON THE OVER 9 (-121).
