Miocic and Ngannou last met at UFC 220 in Jan. 2018, with Miocic winning via unanimous decision in what was then his third defense of the heavyweight strap. He lost the belt to Daniel Cormier in his next fight but regained it and retained it at UFC 241 and UFC 252, respectively.

Ngannou lost his next fight to Derrick Lewis following UFC 220, but he enters Saturday’s bout on a four-fight win streak. All four of those wins were via KO/TKO with the most recent being against Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 249 in May of last year.
