Eagles’ RB Miles Sanders will not play vs. Washington on Sunday

Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders will miss Sunday’s game against Washington with a hamstring injury.

It was announced by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday afternoon that Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders will not make the trip to Washington for the Week 1 game on Sunday, as he has been dealing with a hamstring injury that had him listed as questionable throughout the week. He is now listed as out, obviously.

With Sanders out, the Eagles will now rely on both Boston Scott and Cory Clement to carry their running game, which is good news for Washington. Sanders is expected to be one of the better RBs in the NFL this season, so being able to avoid him early on in the year is always a bonus.

The Philadelphia Eagles are less than two days away from kicking off the 2020 NFL regular season against the Washington Football Team and several Birds could be in jeopardy of missing Sunday’s opener.

Doug Pederson addressed the media on Friday and provided an update for three of the Eagles’ biggest stars and one electric rookie.

Miles Sanders (hamstring) and defensive end Derek Barnett (hamstring) were all day-to-day, while rookie wide receiver Jalen Reagor (shoulder) is trending in the right direction.
