Minnesota Vikings hire Mike Parson as their new Director of Equipment Services

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday that they have hired Mike Parson as their new Director of Equipment Services.

The Minnesota Vikings have made an announcement regarding their new Director of Equipment Services. On Wednesday, the team announced that they have hired Mike Parson for this role.

Parson brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously worked as the director of equipment services for the Houston Texans from 2008 to 2020. In addition to his tenure with the Texans, Parson also worked as an intern with the New Orleans Saints. With this combination of experience, Parson is well-equipped to take on his new position with the Vikings.

Parson’s hiring comes after the retirement of Dennis Ryan, who had been with the Vikings for nearly 50 years. Ryan had served as the team’s equipment manager for many years and had worked with multiple coaches and regimes during his tenure with the team. Parson will now be the third equipment manager in the franchise’s history and hopefully can stay as long as Ryan did.

DE J.J. Watt praises former Texans equipment manager Mike Parson

J.J. Watt lauded outgoing Houston Texans equipment manager Mike Parson.

The Houston Texans staff shuffle has been ongoing even before the club hired new general manager Nick Caserio.

The Texans let go equipment manager Mike Parson last week, and defensive end J.J. Watt took to Twitter to express his appreciation for the job Parson and his staff did while in Houston.

“Mike Parson and the entire equipment staff are incredible people who went above and beyond to help every player in the locker room every single day,” Watt wrote. “A great man and a great staff who shouldn’t be out of work for long. Anybody would be lucky to have them.”

That the Texans are letting go a training staff that a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and face of the franchise glowingly endorses opens up a series of questions as to why they are being dismissed. It isn’t the first time since the firing of Bill O’Brien as coach and general manager on Oct. 5, 2020, that professionals at the top of their game have been sent packing.

Texans personnel purge continues under GM Nick Caserio

The Houston Texans have let go their salary cap specialist in Kevin Krajcovic and made other personnel moves as new GM Nick Caserio settles in.

The Nick Caserio administration is starting to take shape in the Houston Texans’ front office.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans will be moving on from Kevin Krajcovic, who was their director of football administration. Krajcovic oversaw the negotiation of contracts and was the team’s salary cap manager, a job that he had to undertake after longtime senior vice president of football administration, Chris Olsen, left the team following Bill O’Brien’s promotion to general manager and Jack Easterby’s promotion from executive vice president of team development to executive vice president of football operations. Krajcovic had been in his most recent role since February of 2020.

Houston also let go equipment manager Mike Parson and his entire staff, which included Doug West, who was the director of practice facility development and special projects.
