Texas A&M vs Auburn in Week 13: Channel, time, location info

Texas A&M will go for win number nine when they travel to Alabama to take on the Auburn Tigers

Over the last two games, Texas A&M has not played the best football, going 1-1 but still maintaining its share of the top spot in the SEC.

There are two games left on the schedule, and the Aggies have to win out, too, if they want a chance at an SEC title and a college football playoff spot. First, they have to get by a scrappy Auburn Tigers team that will be looking to play spoiler at home.

If the A&M defense can limit the missed tackles and clean up the penalties, this should be a solid SEC road win.

That said, we have all witnessed how chaotic the SEC can get from week to week, and what head coach Mike Elko has been preaching rings true now more than ever. There is no room for error going forward if they want to reach the heights they can.

Here are the best photos from Texas A&M’s big home win over New Mexico State

Here are some of the best photos from Texas A&M’s 38-3 win over New Mexico State

Senior night was a success at Kyle Field, with Texas A&M beating New Mexico State 38-3 in front of a packed crowd.

It’s hard to be upset about a 35-point win, especially on Military Appreciation/Senior Night. However, through a coach’s lens, this game had a few issues that the offense needs to address before they take on Auburn next weekend. The running game behind Amari Daniels is a little concerning, and both quarterbacks continue to miss open receivers deep.

The defense looked much better and put pressure on New Mexico State. It wasn’t a complete walk in the park, as they did allow over 100 yards rushing and did not force any turnovers. On the flip side, they only gave up 92 passing yards and logged 10 TFLs with two sacks.

A&M worked out a few things Saturday night to help clean up OC Collin Klein’s play calling and possible personal packages to close out SEC play. Below are some of the best photos from the game.

Texas A&M head coach proclaims he’s ‘not trying to be the best Mike Elko football program’

“The thing that makes me unique is I’m not trying to be the best Mike Elko football program, I’m trying to build the best football program.”

During a recent interview on the Aggie Football Hour, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko discussed brands in college football and how he differs from the pack.

“The thing that makes me a little bit unique is I’m not trying to be the best Mike Elko football program,” Elko said this week. “I’m trying to build the best football program at Texas A&M.”

Elko is very wise with his words, never taking direct shots at his peers or anyone, but he does a great job alluding to others. In the 37-plus minute conversation with Andrew Monaco, Elko may have been referring to LSU head coach Brian Kelly, who has certainly built his own personal brand.

A key example of Kelly’s brand recognition was suddenly having a southern accent after he departed from Notre Dame and arrived in the bayou. Meanwhile, Elko has remained the same dude regardless of where he is.

‘Nobody wants to see that’ Texas A&M HC Mike Elko reflects on Le’Veon Moss’s injury

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko recently reflected on star running back Le’Veon Moss’s season-ending injury

Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1 SEC) will host New Mexico State on Saturday night after the Aggies’ Week 11 bye week, knowing that their path to the College Football Playoff hinges on winning their final three regular-season games.

After facing the Aggies, which looks like a blowout win on paper, A&M will head to Auburn for a tough road test next weekend. The regular season finale vs. Texas looks like the toughest game on the schedule for both teams.

However, starting on Saturday, the Aggies will be without star running back Le’Veon Moss for the rest of the year.

On Wednesday, during the weekly Aggie Football Hour, head coach Mike Elko discussed Moss’s injury and the impact it’s already had on A&M’s now thin running back room, with Amari Daniels and EJ Smith being the only scholarship back on the roster:

“Nobody wants to see that. When you see a kid who has worked as hard as he’s worked, put in everything he’s done, to have the season that he was having, and now to have to deal with the adversity of coming back from that injury, you hate it for him.”

Before his injury, Moss had an All-SEC-level season, finishing with 765 yards and ten touchdowns on the ground, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.

According to Elko, Moss completed his unspecified lower leg procedure as of Wednesday morning.

Texas A&M’s uniform combination vs. New Mexico State has been revealed

Here is Texas A&M’s uniform combination ahead of facing New Mexico State on Saturday night

Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1 SEC) will host New Mexico State on Saturday night for what many of us consider a “get right” game after the Aggies’ Week 11 bye week, but it was the 44-20 loss at South Carolina has kicked A&M out of the good favor of the CFP selection committee.

Texas A&M’s road to the playoffs and the SEC Championship Game is clear: Win out, and everything will take care of itself. However, the obstacles include a road test vs. Auburn and the season finale vs. Texas, who could end up being the No. 1-ranked team in the country.

Either way, head coach Mike Elko is confident his team is ready to respond to the South Carolina loss after two consecutive weeks of solid practice. For entertainment reasons, Texas A&M’s uniform combination vs. the Aggies was a no-brainer.

The Texas A&M Aggies will wear the all-maroon look for the second time this season. They first wore the combination during the early October win against Missouri. Here’s a video from Texas A&M’s media team revealing the uniform:

Texas A&M has CFP potential, but there’s work to be done

Texas A&M is perfectly positioned to make a run to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff

Texas A&M (7-2, 5-1 SEC) will host New Mexico State on Saturday night. This game looks like a “get right” game for a team that needs to show that the 44-20 loss to South Carolina was a learning moment for a team still on the cusp of making the College Football Playoff.

However, after being ranked 15th in the latest CFP rankings, it looks like the selection committee is basing teams like No. 3 Texas on the “eye test” rather than comparing resumes, as the Longhorns’ best win was against Vanderbilt on the road.

Either way, the message is clear for head coach Mike Elko and his team: Win out, and a playoff spot, including a spot in the SEC Championship Game, is up for grabs. Can the Aggies defeat New Mexico State, Auburn (on the road), and Texas, who could enter as the No. 1 ranked team inside a packed Kyle Field on Nov. 30?

The answer is up to the young men in uniform, as Elko recently discussed the team’s playoff potential before hosting the Aggies on Saturday night:

“We have to stay focused on the now, we have to stay focused on what’s right in front of our face, and we have to go out there and do the best that we can do to go up against New Mexico State.”

While focusing on the task at hand is the right idea, the Aggies need to prove that the loss to South Carolina won’t define them on the road in tough environments.

Still, Elko and his staff deserve the benefit of the doubt after ending A&M’s SEC road losing streak earlier this year.

Overall, the Aggies have proven themselves as playoff contenders after building an impressive resume, including two top-10 wins over Missouri and LSU. Elko also noted that his team is beginning to truly understand the Championship mindset needed to accomplish their remaining goals.

“Our kids are starting to understand what it takes, and now we have to go out and start doing it on a daily basis.”

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko provides an update on OL Chase Bisontis’s impending return

Starting left guard Chase Bisontis is on track to return to the lineup very soon

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko knows what’s at stake over the next three games. The Aggies are currently the 15th-ranked team in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, sitting at 7-2 and 5-1 in SEC play. Is the ranking accurate, fair, etc.? It’s all up for debate.

However, Elko knows that defeating New Mexico State, Auburn (on the road), and Texas will guarantee a spot in the SEC Championship, but knowing if that’s enough to reach the 12-team playoff is still up in the air.

On Wednesday, Elko spoke to the local Aggie media during the weekly SEC Teleconference, providing an important and positive update on starting left guard Chase Bisontis. Bisontis has missed the last three games due to a lower-body injury.

“He’s still working back in, and we’re hoping to get him back as soon as possible.”

While Elko’s quote is vague, I don’t expect Bisontis to be ready this weekend, which means next Saturday’s road test against Auburn and, of course, the season finale against the Texas Longhorns.

Before his injury, Bisontis was playing at an All-SEC level, as his summer switch to guard was the right move by Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing.

No. 14 Texas A&M will host New Mexico State on Saturday, Nov. 16. The game will air on SEC Network at 6:45 p.m. CT.

2026 4-star CB out of Chattanooga (TN) places Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list

Texas A&M is a finalist for 2026 4-star cornerback Chaston Smith

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has stayed at the No. 1 spot in the rankings after landing four commitments over the past two weeks. Head coach Mike Elko and his impressive coaching staff know that recruiting never takes a back seat, even during the football season.

Texas A&M’s 2026 cycle is impressive on its face. It is led by four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga and four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who look like the potential faces of the future Aggie offenses.

Wanting to add more cornerbacks to the class, 4-star CB Chaston Smith out of Chattanooga (TN) has placed the Aggies in this top 5 program list, joining Notre Dame, South Carolina, Clemson, and Indiana.

Standing at 6-1, Smith’s length and press-man skillset is a perfect fit in Elko and DC Jay Bateman’s defensive scheme, needing more speed and length outside to take away consistent downfield production on the boundary.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that 2026 4-star CB Dorian Barney, who recently decommitted from Alabama, will visit Texas A&M this weekend.

According to 247Sports, Chaston Smith is currently positioned as the 38th-ranked cornerback prospect and the 11th-ranked prospect in Tennessee.

Texas A&M fired former head coach Jimbo Fisher a year ago today

A year ago today, The Mike Elko coaching era was just weeks in the making

Under the leadership of now-former head coach Jimbo Fisher, the Texas A&M Football program experienced a stark contrast. Despite Fisher’s success in recruiting, which was particularly evident in the nine-win season during the Covid-ravaged 2020 campaign, the team’s performance on the field did not match this success, especially in October and November.

Former AD Ross Bjork’s decision to extend Fisher’s contract until the 2031 season was always a gamble. It was a massive commitment based on a single season of success, and in this instance, may have been too hasty, shouldering most of the blame for not waiting to see Fisher’s long-term performance.

As the seasons wore on, including a 5-7 finish in 2022 after entering the year ranked 6th in the AP Top 25, the national media began to doubt if Fisher was the right choice from a cultural perspective. The accumulation of recruiting talent and the blatant lack of transfer portal utilization reached a breaking point toward the end of the 2023 season.

Losing three out of four key matchups, Texas A&M’s winnable 38-35 road loss to Ole Miss was the rumored loss that sealed Fisher’s fate, as the once big-time hire was let go on Sunday, Nov. 12, just a date after A&M’s 51-10 win over Mississippi State.

Fisher’s massive $75 million buyout is an obvious eye-sore, as the school and alumni are on the hook for the next seven years.

Two weeks later, the exhaustive coaching search came down to Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and Duke head coach Mike Elko. As we all remember, the negative online reaction regarding the rumored Stoops hire partially eliminated him from consideration.

Knowing that Elko had served under Fisher as the program’s defensive coordinator from 2018-2021, the veteran assistant was always the right choice. During his two-year stint with the Blue Devils, Elko checked off every want/need.

With just three regular-season games left in his first season, the Aggies are 7-2 and 5-1 in the SEC with a chance to earn a spot in the SEC Championship Game and the 12-team College Football Playoff. Elko has already improved the program. He has instilled a culture based on toughness and work ethic while matching Fisher’s recruiting success.

Texas A&M vs. Auburn Game Time, Channel options has been revealed

Texas A&M vs. Auburn will be a night game inside what should be a packed Jordan-Hare Stadium

14th-ranked Texas A&M is three wins away from earning a spot in the SEC Championship Game and the 12-team College Football Playoff. Still, after hosting New Mexico State on Saturday night, the Aggies will travel to Alabama to take on Auburn inside what should be a packed Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn’s struggles this season are noteworthy, as the Tigers are one of the worst teams in the SEC, sitting at 3-6 and 1-5 in SEC play, but when analyzing their schedule, the Tigers have been nearly every home game, including their recent 17-7 loss to Vanderbilt.

Led by senior running back Jarquez Hunter, who has already run for 913 yards and five touchdowns, Texas A&M’s defense will have its hands full after missing 25 tackles in the 44-20 loss to South Carolina in Week 10, something that needs to be improved by the time the Aggies travel to Jordan-Hare.

Even more challenging, the schedule makers are apparently obsessed with Texas A&M playing in night games, as the game will start at either 6:30 or 6:45 p.m. CT. and will air on either ESPN or SEC Network.

If Texas A&M defeats New Mexico State, the Aggies must avoid looking ahead to hosting the Texas Longhorns because I can guarantee that the Tigers will play their best football to play spoiler.
