Texas A&M star RB Le’Veon Moss reveals his future plans

Texas A&M star running back Le’Veon Moss will officially return for his 2025 senior season!

According to his Instagram post, Texas A&M’s 2025 roster received a significant boost, as incoming senior running back Le’Veon Moss will officially return next season. His season-ending injury this season has motivated the veteran back to have a career year in 2025.

While nothing is official until the player himself releases an announcement, it was presumed that Moss would give it another go, mainly so his lower-body injury could completely heal, while his future draft stock will likely soar behind Texas A&M’s veteran offensive line, which should return nearly every starter from the 2024 roster.

Moss was the focal point of Texas A&M’s offense this season before sustaining a knee injury in the loss to South Carolina, finishing the year with 765 yards and ten touchdowns, including a 63 yards per carry average that led the SEC for most of the year.

Moss’s powerful running style, coupled with his elite vision and footwork, was sorely missed after his injury, and given the added depth from the 2025 recruiting class, Texas A&M’s running back room is in the best shape it’s been in years after Moss’s announcement.

North Carolina State transfer wide receiver has arrived for his Texas A&M visit

North Carolina transfer wide receiver KC Concepcion has arrived for his weekend visit to Texas A&M

Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver room could be another significant addition to an already loaded room, as former North Carolina State WR Kevin “KC” Concepcion has reportedly arrived for his visit to College Station on Friday, which is big news after weeks of speculation.

According to Texas A&M recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway, also known as AggiesToday to the masses, Concepcion touched down in CSTAT late Thursday night and will likely spend the next two to three days with Coach Mike Elko and his staff. However, Concepcion will head to Miami (FL) after his Aggie visit.

Regardless, Elko and his team have a real opportunity to secure his commitment as early as this weekend. The incoming junior understands that he will join the program as a starter right away, thanks to his previous performance and exceptional skill set.

In two seasons with the Wolfpack, Concepcion recorded 124 receptions, 1,299 yards, and 16 touchdowns, bringing a blend of speed and excellent route running despite dealing with quarterback issues throughout his collegiate career.

If the Aggies can reel him in, Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver room suddenly looks like one of the best units in the country heading into the spring football season.

‘This is getting out of hand,’ Texas A&M coach Mike Elko discusses NIL and transfer portal

“Obviously, this is less than ideal to be going through what we’re going through right now roster wise with games coming down the stretch.”

This time of year, any time a sports fan opens X, formerly known as Twitter, there is a college football player announcing their entrance into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko recently shared his thoughts about the portal and Name, Image & Likeness.

“Obviously, this is less than ideal to be going through what we’re going through right now roster wise with games coming up down the stretch. I don’t have a great solution other than, at some point, we’ll have to figure out some kind of centralized leadership for college football because this is getting out of hand,” Elko proclaimed Tuesday afternoon. “Now, more than ever, this sport needs somebody to step in and create some type of rules and regulations. I am all for the portal. I am all for NIL. I have no problems managing any of that.

“There is a lot of unregulated stuff going on right now, and it’s going to impact young people and young people’s futures.”

The Aggies (8-4) will play USC (6-6) in the Las Vegas Bowl at Allegiant Stadium on Dec. 27 at 9:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Texas A&M’s Las Vegas Bowl D-line starters announced amid departures

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko announced who will step in place of Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner vs. USC in the Las Vegas Bowl

Texas A&M’s 2024 regular season might be over, but the Aggies still have a chance to win nine games and head into the 2025 offseason with momentum. Coach Mike Elko and his staff will be without 22 players, including 19 who entered the transfer portal and three NFL Draft-bound defenders.

While this was expected, depth across the defensive line is an issue going into next Friday’s Las Vegas Bowl vs. USC, as starting defensive ends Nic Scourton and Shemar Stewart were the first players to declare for the draft. In contrast, senior defensive tackle Shemar Turner announced his intentions on Tuesday.

During Monday’s pre-bowl press conference, Elko discussed the departures while noting the team’s budding culture and the opportunity presented to the younger players, especially on defense, who will play the entire game and gain more experience heading into next season.

“For some of our seniors, there is a chance for them to go out and have a big game against USC. … It’s an individual basis. Our kids trust in the culture here. They trust in the coaches. They trust in what we’re saying.”

Along the defensive line, Elko confirmed that Edge/defensive end Cashius Howell, defensive tackle DJ Hicks, and defensive end Rylan Kennedy will likely play the entire game outside of a handful of snaps.

Howell, a star in the making during his first season with the Aggies, ended the year with 35 tackles and three sacks, earning a 73 defensive grade and a team-high 82.6 pass-rush grade per Pro Football Focus.

Kennedy, who finished the year with 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks, earned the second-highest PFF pass-rush grade (81.0), while DJ Hicks started most of the season next to Shemar Turner, finishing with 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Texas A&M will face USC in the Las Vegas Bowl on Friday, Dec. 27. The game will air on ESPN at 9:30 CT.

Texas A&M football will be featured in a Netflix documentary this summer

The Texas A&M football team will be part of a Netflix docuseries focusing on the 2024 SEC football season

On Wednesday, Netflix announced that they produced an eight-episode docuseries featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the 2024 SEC football season that will air in the Summer of 2025.

While not every team participated in the production, Texas A&M took advantage of the opportunity, and after it airs, we’ll know if it will be a net positive or negative.

In the age of unlimited transfers and unchecked NIL deals, any edge a university can get in recruiting will be explored. Aggie fans already get a glimpse of what goes in the locker room due to their excellent in-season series “The Pulse.”

This series will provide a different perspective and lead to other conferences in future series. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey believes it will be a binge-worthy watch for Netflix subscribers.

“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience”

Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver room is built on speed and potential

Texas A&M’s 2025 WR room is as deep as it’s been in years

Texas A&M has landed five commitments from the transfer portal, led by the newest addition of former Mississippi State wide receiver Mario Cramer, who is coming off an impressive freshman season with the Bulldogs.

On Sunday, former five-star and Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson announced his commitment to the program, filling out what looks like the best WR room Texas A&M has had under both Jimbo Fisher and Mike Elko, even though both new additions don’t bring in substantial on-field production.

While Hudson and Cramer will immediately compete for starting spots, the return of incoming senior Noah Thomas and sophomore Terry Bussey look like the 1-2 options on paper. At the same time, it’s important to note that five-star freshman WR Jerome Myles will not be present during the spring football season.

However, incoming sophomores Ashton Bethel-Roman and Izaiah Williams are names to watch after briefly showing off their skills during the 38-0 w win over New Mexico State. Speedster Ernest Campbell looks like the forgotten man on the roster after not seeing the field this season.

Lastly, Jerome Myles is joined by two of the faster receivers in the 2025 class. Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman were risers toward the end of their recruitment, bringing immediate depth to a stacked rotation.

Compared to last season, OC Collin Klein’s focus on creating mismatches in the passing game should see more success with the added speed and athleticism that will pair well with the run game and set up play-action shot-downs field.

Mario Craver continues to be the name to watch. During his freshman season, he averaged 21 yards per catch, including 54, 46, and 72-yard receptions, consistently displaying his deep speed.

Incoming redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed has a lot of work ahead of him to improve after an up-and-down first season, but with these new additions to the receiving corps, Reed has plenty to work with to improve significantly next season.

Here is the current wide receiver depth chart in his current form:

  1. Noah Thomas (4-star prospect)
  2. Terry Bussey (5-star prospect)
  3. Micah Hudson (5-star prospect)
  4. Mario Craver (4-star prospect)
  5. Jerome Myles (5-star prospect)
  6. Ashton Bethel-Roman (4-star prospect)
  7. Izaiah Williams (4-star prospect)
  8. Kelshaun Johnson (4-star prospect)
  9. Ernest Johnson (4-star prospect)
  10. TK Norman (3-star prospect)

USC bowl opponent loses two key defenders to 2025 NFL draft

USC is enduring roster depletion for its bowl game, but its opponent, Texas A&M, is facing the same problem. It creates a very fluid situation in Las Vegas.

We are less than two weeks away from USC football concluding its 2024 season against Texas A&M in the Las Vegas Bowl.

The Aggies finished the season 8-4, including a 5-3 mark in SEC play. However, they will be without two key defenders in the matchup against the Trojans.

Since the conclusion of the regular season, Texas A&M junior defensive linemen Nic Scourton and Shemar Stewart have both declared for the NFL Draft. The expectation is that neither will play against USC in Las Vegas.

Scourton finished the regular season with 37 tackles, five sacks, two passes defended, and a forced fumble. Steward had 31 tackles, two passes defended, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Given the Trojans’ makeshift offensive line, USC will certainly not complain about the news. The Trojans have already lost offensive linemen Mason Murphy, Gino Quinones, and Amos Talalele to the transfer portal. It is also not yet known whether NFL-bound seniors Jonah Monheim and Emmanuel Pregnon will play in the game or not.

Even with a relatively mobile quarterback in Jayden Maiava, USC could be in trouble up front in the Sin City. While their opponent being without two of its top defenders certainly won’t fix everything, it should hopefully at least make Maiava’s life a little easier.

Is Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed a potential Heisman candidate in 2025?

Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed has a chance to take complete control of the offense in 2025

Texas A&M’s 2024 season didn’t live up to the mid-season expectations after the Aggies stood at 7-1 and 5-0 in SEC play, but after the loss of star running back Le’Veon Moss, the offense sputtered and never looked the same.

Despite the late-season quarterback transition to redshirt freshman Marcel Reed, progress was evident. Reed led the Aggies to a perfect 3-0 record, concluding his inaugural season with a 4-3 overall record.

Statistically, Reed completed 61% of his passes for 1,572 yards and 12 touchdowns while running for 501 yards and six touchdowns, living up to his dual-threat billing in several games. While OC Collin Klein endured scrutiny for poor playcalling toward the end of the year, it’s assumed that he will fit the offense to Reed’s skillset even more so in 2025.

However, Reed’s struggles in the passing game were evident in the season finale loss to Texas, throwing for just 146 yards and an interception against the Longhorn’s elite secondary. Still, Reed’s first entire season was just the start of what’s to come for a player with all the traits to turn into a star signal caller.

Gaining healthy mass is crucial for Reed to maximize his potential this offseason. However, Coach Mike Elko needs to bring in playmakers at wide receiver and tight end from the transfer portal to complement the returning and incoming players, especially five-star WR Jerome Myles.

Suppose we’re discussing Reed as a Heisman Trophy candidate. In that case, he’ll need borderline elite blocking and a true No. 1 wide receiver, which could be Myles as soon as the youngster steps on campus. However, the realistic option looks like former Texas Tech wideout Micah Hudson, who committed to the Aggies on Sunday night.

Reed’s confidence and work ethic match on-field talent, which should garner preseason praise. However, expect the media to recognize Reed as something other than the 2025 starter after the Aggies landed veteran QB Jacob Zeno from the portal.

Zeno’s commitment only benefits Reed and the young Aggie quarterback room, providing insurance and barring future injuries. However, if Marcel Reed is going to reach new heights, having a worthy opponent to push him toward his goals and challenge him throughout fall camp is the best path to success.

The bottom line is that Marcel Reed’s speed, elusiveness, and ability to make plays out of structure are why he should at least be considered a Heisman candidate.

Will Texas A&M’s Terry Bussey stay at wide receiver in 2025?

Could Terry Bussey make the switch to cornerback? it isn’t very likely after landing former Georgia CB Julian Humphrey

Texas A&M’s cornerback room looks solidified after the Sunday morning addition of former Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey, who announced his intentions after his weekend visit to College Station.

Starting ten games during his final season with the Bulldogs, Humphrey finished with ten tackles and four pass deflections while earning the second-highest coverage grade on the team (69) per Pro Football Focus.

Joining senior outside corner Will Lee III, Humphrey is a shoo-in to start in rotate in opposite Lee, as the Aggie cornerback room looks the best it has in years. This also directly impacted former five-star athlete Terry Bussey, who played most of his 2024 snaps as a wide receiver.

Bussey’s recruitment was very similar to that of Heisman-winning WR/CB Travis Hunter. While both players are different, Bussey is talented enough to switch to cornerback full-time while still taking snaps at wide receiver.

However, with Julian Humphrey’s commitment, Coach Mike Elko and OC Collin Klein likely view Bussey as a slot wide receiver with plenty of upside in screens and mesh concepts to consistently pick up third downs and open up the deep passing game. Bussey finished the season with 13 receptions for 179 yards, including 97 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

We won’t understand the coaching staff’s strategy for Bussey’s future until the 2025 spring season. However, if Elko views Bussey as a dual-threat player similar to Travis Hunter, it’s time to experiment next season.

Former Texas Tech wide receiver has committed to Texas A&M

Former Texas Tech WR Micah Hudson is headed to College Station

Boom! Texas A&M has secured its fourth commitment from the transfer portal, as former five-star prospect and Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson is set to join Aggieland for his sophomore season, adding crucial playmaking ability to A&M’s wide receiver corps.

After visiting Texas A&M last week, Hudson was predicted to land with the Aggies from the outset. He almost committed to the program out of high school before sticking with his original Texas Tech pledge.

During his one and only season in Lubbock (TX), Hudson recorded just eight receptions and 123 yards through the air but showed off his elite ball skills on several occasions. However, his fit in the Texas Tech offense didn’t come to fruition, and a change of scenery while Texas looked like the goal.

Hudson originally planned to announce his commitment in under two weeks, including a potential LSU visit. Still, after the Tigers landed former Kentucky wideout Barion Brown, Hudson likely saw the Aggies as the best choice to make an impact right out of the gate in 2025.

Hudson joins 2025 five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, incoming senior WR Noah Thomas, and sophomore Terry Bussey in what looks like a vastly improved WR room next season.
