Michigan State won a big time road game over Maryland, improving their record to 2-0, and giving head coach Jonathan Smith his first Big Ten conference victory as the head man of the Spartans.

A big part of that win was the connection between Aidan Chiles and Nick Marsh, and more specifically their 77-yard touchdown connection tying the game 24-24 late in the fourth quarter.

Michigan State football went into College Park on Saturday and won a huge road game against the Maryland Terrapins. The win was the first Big Ten conference win for Jonathan Smith as the head man in East Lansing.

The win did not come without a lot of mistakes, but the Spartans persevered and gave the team and it’s fans a huge win to celebrate.

Smith spoke to the media after his first win in the Big Ten, sharing his thoughts on his team’s performance and what he saw from the action inside of SECU Stadium.

Michigan State football defeated Maryland on the road in upset fashion on Saturday, securing an upset win over the Terrapins, 27-24. The win by Michigan State came on the leg of Jonathan Kim, who nailed a 37-yard field goal with one second on the clock.

The win, exciting in nature, was the jolt of energy that Jonathan Smith needed as his first Big Ten win in East Lansing.

The Spartans will be back in action next weekend, back in East Lansing, when they play host to Prairie View A&M inside of Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State football RG Gavin Broscious to make first career start

Gavin Broscious is set to make his first career start with MSU against Maryland:

According to the Michigan State football injury report, Kris “Big Dooley” Phillips is out for MSU’s game against Maryland. Now, it appears that redshirt sophomore Gavin Broscious will be stepping in to get his first career start in the green and white.

Phillips made his first career start against Florida Atlantic a week ago, where he was solid at right guard, but apparently injured his knee in the game. He is expected to be out for several weeks, but fans should wait for more clarification from Jonathan Smith on the matter.

Michigan State and Maryland will square off this Saturday, opening Big Ten conference play against one another. The Spartans and Terrapins have had a history of close games, although the meeting in 2024 will be the first between Mike Locksley and Jonathan Smith.

Michigan State got a big time conference win on Saturday evening, defeating Maryland inside of the Breslin Center, 63-54. The win bolsters MSU’s record to 14-8 and further cements their place in the NCAA tournament.

Michigan State basketball gets big win over Maryland, 63-54

MSU sweeps Maryland inside of the Breslin Center

Michigan State and Maryland locked up in a gritty matchup inside of the Breslin Center on Saturday evening. Both teams entered the contest at 13-8 and looking for a huge win to secure positioning in the NCAA tournament.

It was the Spartans who ultimately prevailed in the contest, defeating the Terrapins, 63-54, on their home floor.

The Spartans used a 12-0 run in the second half to pull away from Maryland, who took their only lead of the game, 42-41, late in the second half.

Tyson Walker and Malik Hall led the way for MSU, scoring 19 points a piece, while no other Spartan finished in double figures.

Michigan State will be back in action on Tuesday, on the road, against Minnesota.
