Twitter/X reacts to Jonathan Kim’s 58-yard field goal to end first half against Iowa:

Jonathan Kim ended the first half with a 58-yard field goal to cut MSU’s deficit to 10-9. It was a monster kick from Kim, that was a huge momentum boost for the Spartans as the ended the first half in Iowa City.

Michigan State football releases availability report for game against Iowa

Who’s in, who’s out? Michigan State has released its availability report ahead of its night clash with Iowa:

Michigan State has officially released it’s availability report for its game against Iowa tonight under the lights. The availability report is a new feature this season where team’s release injury reports two hours before the game.

Of note, Jacoby Windmon and sophomore Armorian Smith have been listed as out for the season. Aside from that, new members to the list are Geno VanDeMark and Keyshawn Blackstock. Charles Brantley will also miss his second straight game.

Check out Michigan State football’s captains for their week five game against Iowa:

Michigan State has announced who will lead the Spartans into Kinnick Stadium for their game against Iowa. The Spartans will have defensive tackle Simeon Barrow, linebacker Cal Haladay and wide receiver Tre Mosley leading the team as captains for the week five contest with the Hawkeyes.

Mosley and Barrow have been captains every week this year, while this is the first time Haladay will be featured.

Michigan State is heading to Iowa City on Saturday for their first road matchup of the season to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes under the lights at Kinnick Stadium.

The Spartans have released what uniform combination they are going to be using for the contest, going with a new white helmet, white jersey and white pants.

LOOK: MSU basketball PG AJ Hoggard stays on court to shoot free throws

AJ Hoggard didn’t even let the fans file out of the stadium before he started practicing his free throws:

Fans hadn’t even filed out of the stands yet, but AJ Hoggard was on a mission.

Following the Spartans 63-61 victory against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday night, Hoggard was not happy with his performance. Hoggard finished the contest with 7 points on 3-of-12 shooting, but more importantly, he missed his lone free throw attempt.

With the Spartans up by two, and under 30 seconds left to play, Hoggard was sent to the line for a one-and-one. He missed the free throw, giving Iowa a chance to win the game.

Fortunately, Iowa missed the game winning shot, and the Spartans were victorious, but Hoggard wasn’t satisfied.

Hoggard stayed on the court after the handshake line, not even going to locker room, not even waiting for fans to leave, he was going to practice his free throws:

Michigan State squeaked out a huge Big Ten victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday night. It was a game the Spartans struggled in, and trailed for much of, but the veteran team was able to step up and pick up the win down the stretch.

The game also saw the return of Malik Hall, who has missed a second stint this season due to a foot injury. It was a welcomed return for the Spartans, as he came back with a bang.

Another Thursday, another Big Ten victory for MSU. The Spartans knocked off the visiting Iowa Hawkeyes for a pivotal Big Ten victory on Thursday night at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State found themselves down several times in the contest, but were able to overcome the deficit every time to pull off the 63-61 victory.

The Spartans scored very evenly across the board, being led by Jaden Akins (12 points). Akins was followed by the returning Malik Hall (11 points), Joey Hauser (11 points), Tyson Walker (10 points) and Mady Sissoko’s double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds).
