The oddsmakers expected a blowout victory for the Spartans on Saturday.

Michigan State football returns home on Saturday afternoon to host FCS foe Prairie View A&M in a non-conference matchup. Michigan State will enter this game as a massive favorite.

The Spartans are currently listed as a 40.5-point favorite over the Panthers, according to The Score app. That betting line aligns with ESPN’s SP+ projection of a 40-0 victory for the Spartans.

Michigan State comes into this matchup with the Panthers following a big-time road upset of Maryland last week. The Spartans are 2-0 on the year and looking to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2021.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

ESPN SP+ projects a blowout win for MSU vs. Prairie View A&M this week

The computers anticipate Michigan State will pick up an easy win this week

The computers anticipate Michigan State will pick up an easy win this week.

Bill Connelly of ESPN posts his weekly predictions based on SP+ — an algorithm to rate teams and project outcomes — and the Michigan State-Prairie View A&M game is shaping up to be a beatdown. SP+ projects Michigan State to beat the Panthers 40-0. At this time, I have yet to find a betting line posted so this is my only indication of how big a spread we could see in this matchup.

Michigan State comes into this home non-conference matchup feeling really good about themselves after picking up a road upset win over Maryland this past weekend. The Spartans are 2-0 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Prairie View A&M is also coming into this matchup off a victory, topping Northwestern State this past weekend. The Panthers are 1-1 on the year.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
