Michigan State hockey season opening series has date change

MSU vs LSSU has had a date change:

Michigan State hockey is scheduled to cross the Mackinac Bridge into the Upper Peninsula to open their 2024-25 season. The Spartans will be squaring off against the Lakers of Lake Superior State.

Due to an NCAA rule change, the date of that series has been moved to a Friday/Saturday series on Oct. 4-5.

Michigan State hockey released it’s official 2024-25 schedule on Thursday

“The road ahead is now known.”

Michigan State hockey released it’s official 2024-25 schedule on Thursday, with the Spartans slated to start the season on October 4 against Lake Superior State. Michigan State will follow-up that season-opening series against the Lakers by facing traditional powerhouse Boston College at home the following weekend.

Michigan State enters the season coming off a Big Ten regular season and tournament championship last year. The Spartans are expected again to contend for a league title in 2024-25.
