Michigan State football is heading out west in the latest batch of bowl projections from USA TODAY.

Erick Smith of USA TODAY released his updated bowl projections for this week on Tuesday, and Michigan State is going to Arizona. He has the Spartans projected to play in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Cincinnati in his last projections.

Michigan State is 3-1 on the year following a loss to Boston College last week. That loss dropped the Spartans in the bowl pecking order from the Music City Bowl in Smith’s projection last week to the Guaranteed Rate Bowl this week.

Next up for Michigan State is a pair of matchups against top 10 teams — Ohio State this week and at Oregon next week. So it’ll be interesting to monitor the Spartans’ bowl status over the next few weeks, with Michigan State either raising its bowl stock or dropping it.

Michigan State football is still in a good position to go bowling, according to Brett McMurphy of the Action Network.

McMurphy released a new batch of bowl projections on Monday, and the Spartans are still sitting in a good spot despite the loss at Boston College this past weekend. McMurphy still has Michigan State landing in the Birmingham Bowl but now facing Virginia of the ACC. The past two weeks he’s had Michigan State in the Birmingham Bowl as well, but has swapped out ACC foes in the projected bowl game matchup.

Michigan State is 3-1 on the year following this past weekend’s loss at Boston College. Michigan State is now entering the meat of its schedule with back-to-back games against top 10 teams in Ohio State this week and a road trip to Oregon next week.

Michigan State football is heading to the Big Apple in the latest batch of CBS Sports bowl projections.

The Spartans dropped their first game of the year this weekend in a tough road loss at Boston College. But that loss hasn’t hurt Michigan State’s odds of reaching a bowl game in the eyes of CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm. He still has the Spartans included in his updated bowl projections.

Palm has Michigan State landing in the Pinstripe Bowl facing North Carolina. Last week, Palm had the Spartans slated for the Detroit Bowl.

Michigan State is 3-1 overall following the loss to Boston College this weekend The Spartans will now enter a tough stretch that includes at least four ranked foes across the next six games. Next up for Michigan State is a home game against No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday.

The Spartans are off to a strong start this year, and that has resulted in a bump up in USA TODAY’s latest bowl projections.

Erick Smith of USA TODAY releases weekly bowl projections, and this week he moved Michigan State up the Big Ten bowl pecking ladder. Smith has the Spartans now slated for the Music City Bowl facing Oklahoma of the SEC.

Last week, Michigan State was projected for the Pinstripe Bowl against NC State. The win over Prairie View A&M resulted in a slight bump up to the Music City Bowl this week.

Michigan State is 3-0 on the year and will face Boston College this week. The Spartans and Eagles will take the field at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Michigan State football is halfway to bowl eligibility thanks to this week’s win over Prairie View A&M. So does Jerry Palm of CBS Sports think the Spartans will go bowling this year? Yes, he does.

Palm released an updated batch of bowl projections on Sunday morning following week three action, and Michigan State was included. Palm has the Spartans staying close to home and playing in the Detroit Bowl against Miami (OH) in his updated projections.

Michigan State is 3-0 on the year following Saturday’s shutout win over Prairie View A&M. The Spartans will need to win three more games this year to reach bowl eligibility.

Michigan State picked up a massive win last week in regards to reaching bowl eligibility. The win over Maryland was considered a toss-up game, and should go a long way toward Michigan State reaching six wins and earning bowl eligibility.
