The Big Ten season is but three weeks away, which means if you’re a sports bettor, you can put money on just how good (or not) you think Michigan football will fare in 2020.
Though many prognosticators anticipate that the Wolverines will finish fourth in the conference and go to a lower-tier bowl game, that’s not how the sportsbooks see it. In fact, BetMGM has given Michigan the second-best odds in the Big Ten, with the maize and blue sitting at +550 to win the conference, behind only Ohio State, which is the favorite with odds of -250.
Likewise, Michigan is second in the Big Ten East division, with odds of +300 to be better than OSU, Penn State, Michigan State, Indiana and Maryland (Rutgers isn’t listed), but — of course — behind the Buckeyes who sit at -304.
As far as the national championship is concerned, Michigan is eighth at +3500, behind Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma and (yes) Penn State to win it all.
There are no Wolverines currently listed in the Heisman Trophy futures odds.
