Oregon women’s basketball adds Miami (OH) transfer guard Peyton Scott

Kelly Graves adds former Miami (OH) guard Peyton Scott to the 2023-24 women’s basketball roster.

Kelly Graves is finalizing his Oregon Ducks women’s basketball roster for the 2023-24 season and he has added transfer guard Peyton Scott from Miami (OH).

The former Redhawk averaged 15.4 points per game last season and during her four-year career, Scott poured in 17 points per contest. She also shoots 83 percent from the free throw line last season and was named to the Third Team All-MAC squad.

Scott’s best season came during the 2020-21 year when she averaged 21 points a game as a sophomore.

The Ducks continue to add guard talent after seeing the likes of Te-Hina Paopao and Endyia Rogers leave the program. Oregon added former Liberty guard Kennedi Williams a couple of days ago.

Michigan State football transfer WR chooses Miami (OH)

A former Michigan State wide receiver is transferring to Miami

Cade McDonald had a better than average career at Michigan State, and an especially good career as a former walk-on. McDonald finished his career in the green and white with 5 catches for 43 yards.

Now, McDonald is going to graduate transfer to Miami University, where he will seek a starting spot and more playing time.

Kentucky vs Miami University Game Preview

Why Miami University Will Win

The RedHawks have enough offense to be a concern.

They’re not going to come out and put 60 on the board, but Brett Gabbert is a veteran passer, the receiving corps is solid – TE Jack Coldiron is dangerous – and the offensive line is full of veterans who know what they’re doing.

Overall, the team is set up for a team like Kentucky. MU is happy to play a grinding game that relies on third down conversions on both sides and winning the turnover battle. However, the downfield passing game should bother the Wildcat secondary.

But …

Why Kentucky Will Win

The Miami University defense is all but rebooting.

It was good against the run, it finished third overall in the MAC and second in scoring D, and it wasn’t bad at getting into the backfield.

The RedHawk defensive tackles are okay, but too many playmakers from last year have to be replaced.

Kentucky star RB Chris Rodriguez is out after an off-the-field incident, but the rest of the offense should be able to blast away with Kavosiey Smoke working behind a solid line. The real problem for Miami University should be …

What’s Going To Happen

Will Levis.

Yes, Kentucky will try to own games on the ground, and yes, it’s not going to take many chances, but the star Wildcat quarterback should have a big day against a questionable RedHawk secondary and with plenty of time to work.

Miami will be good enough to keep this from getting too far out of hand, but UK won’t have too many problems after the first half.

Running back recruit will visit Notre Dame

Hope the Irish can land him.

Notre Dame never can have enough players at skill positions. That’s because you never know when you might find the next player to electrify crowds at Notre Dame Stadium. That surely is the reason the Irish staff is thrilled to see the below tweet from Tony Phillips Jr., a running back recruit from Bishop McNamara in Kankakee, Illinois:

Unless there’s something we don’t know about, Saturday stands to be a busy a day for Phillips because he already has tweeted about going to Illinois on the same day. He hasn’t tweeted about visiting the Illini since:

In March, Phillips also visited Purdue and Iowa, so it’s obvious that a lot of Big Ten programs are looking heavily at him. In January, he received offers from Massachusetts and Miami (Ohio). Those were on top of the offers he already had received from Syracuse, Tennessee and Florida Atlantic.

This kid will play somewhere with a fine reputation in college, and let’s hope it’s Notre Dame.

What to watch: Week 1 games that Notre Dame should keep an eye on

The Irish should keep an eye out for these games before they hit the field

The season begins now. Well, it technically started last weekend but Week 0 is always just a appetizer before the main course of Week 1 action. Since the Irish don’t play until Sunday night, take a look at a few games that we should keep an eye on today and tomorrow before Notre Dame kicks off their 2021 campaign.
