Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Miami Dolphins (3-0) travel to meet the Cincinnati Bengals (1-2) for Thursday Night Football at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (Amazon Prime Video). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Dolphins at Bengals, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Dolphins had a 3rd consecutive test against an AFC contender last Sunday, and they passed with flying colors. After topping the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens in the first 2 games, the Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills came to town. Miami edged Buffalo 21-19 to remain 1 of only 2 unbeaten teams in the NFL.

The Bengals have gotten off to a sluggish start, but posted their 1st victory last week against the New York Jets, winning 27-12. The Bengals cashed the Under for a 3rd consecutive outing.

Dolphins at Bengals picks and predictions

Prediction

Bengals 25, Dolphins 19

Money line

The Bengals (-205) have just been too inconsistent to this point to risk more than 2 times your potential return, even though Cincinnati likely has the upper hand here with the Dolphins (+170) literally limping into the game with many key injuries.

PASS.

Against the spread

At first glance, an unbeaten Dolphins +4.5 (-115) looks like a gift from the sportsbooks. But BENGALS -4.5 (-107) is the play here.

While I don’t mind QB Teddy Bridgewater under center if Tua is unable to go, if Waddle were to sit, too, that’s bad news for the offense. And seeing Howard on the injury report on the defensive side of the ball would allow QB Joe Burrow to pick apart the Dolphins secondary with his cadre of impressive receivers.

This has the look of a breakout performance for Cincinnati, getting itself back on track for another playoff run.

Over/Under

The lean is to UNDER 46.5 (-105) here, especially if Tua and/or Waddle are inactive.

Prime time games have cashed the Under in 7 of 10 games under the lights already this season, and this game appears ‘primed’ to go Under on Prime Video. See what I did there?

Analyzing Sunday’s Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals preseason Week 3 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Miami Dolphins (1-1) meet the Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) Sunday for a 4 p.m. ET kickoff at Paul Brown Stadium. Below, we look at the Dolphins vs. Bengals odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Dolphins fell 20-13 in Chicago on Aug. 14 in the preseason opener before rolling the Atlanta Falcons at Hard Rock Stadium last Saturday by a 37-17 count to easily cover as six-point favorites.

The Bengals topped the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road Aug. 14, 19-14, before falling on the road against the Washington Football Team last Saturday, 17-13. The Bengals have covered both games while the Under has hit in each.

Dolphins at Bengals odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Bengals 19, Dolphins 15

Money line

The BENGALS (-130) are worth a look in front of the home fans, and Cincinnati should get a boost with QB Joe Burrow (knee) seeing his first action of the preseason, albeit on a limited basis.

The offensive line has been very good through two preseason games, allowing just one sack. Look for Cincinnati to win this first preseason meeting between the teams since 1975.

Against the spread

The BENGALS -2.5 (-112) are a better play laying the small number rather than betting the money line. There just isn’t much more risk, and you can save a little bit unless you believe this is going to be decided by two or fewer points.

Over/Under

UNDER 36.5 (-112) is the lean, even though we’ve seen a little bit of an uptick in scoring in the third and final weekend of preseason action. Burrow will play, but it will be a cameo.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said earlier in the week that he is undecided whether he’ll rest the starters in this one. It’s a good bet they play some, but not long, preserving the starting unit for a key Week 1 battle against the New England Patriots.

Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals odds and lines: Bengals might see Burrow cameo in finale

Looking at the NFL odds and lines for Sunday’s Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals Week 3 preseason matchup.

The Miami Dolphins (1-1) travel to meet the Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) in the teams’ preseason finales Sunday. Kickoff at Paul Brown Stadium is set for 4 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Dolphins at Bengals odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

After looking rather listless in its preseason opener, Miami pounded the Atlanta Falcons 37-17 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens Saturday. It was the second-highest scoring output of the entire preseason by any team to date.

The Bengals held out QB Joe Burrow for a second straight game and it’s unknown if the second-year signal-caller will play Sunday. Cincinnati came up short in a 17-13 loss on the road Friday against the Washington Football Team.

The Dolphins (-130) are slight road favorites with an implied win probability of 56.52%. Their money line odds can be expressed as a fraction of 10/13 or a decimal of 1.77. Miami will need to win by 3 or more points in order to cover the spread.

The Bengals must lose by no more than 2 points, win outright, or tie in order to cover the spread. Their +105 odds represent an implied win probability of  48.78% and can be expressed as a fraction of 21/20 or decimal of 2.05.

The Dolphins and Bengals must combine to score 36 or more points for a bet on the Over 35.5 to cash. A point total of 35 or fewer points is a win for the Under. The odds price for the Over and Under is the equally likely result on the projected total.
