Mets at Orioles: Projected starting pitchers
RHP Ariel Jurado vs. RHP Asher Wojciechowski
Jurado is making his season debut Tuesday night after being acquired by the Mets in August.
- Last season with the Texas Rangers, he went 7-11 in 32 appearances (18 starts). His ERA was 5.81.
- Jurado doesn’t strike out batters at a high rate, owning a career K/9 of 5.2.
Wojciechowski has started six games for the Orioles this season and owns a record of just 1-3 with a 5.13 ERA.
- The Orioles are 2-4 in Wojciechowski’s starts but have scored an average of only 3.5 runs in those games.
- Wojciechowski averages 8.8 K/9 in the majors but his career WHIP sits at 1.415.

Prediction
Mets 6, Orioles 3
Moneyline (ML)
The METS (-143) come into this one as the favorites despite losing four games in a row. Both teams have been on a slide in the last 10 games, with New York going 4-6 and Baltimore going 3-7. The Mets acquired C Robinson Chirinos and 3B Todd Frazier from the Rangers at Monday’s trade deadline, so if available, they could contribute immediately.
While not overly confident in this pick, I’d go with the METS (-143) over the Orioles on the moneyline.
New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Mets to win returns a profit of $7.
Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
BetMGM’s run line has the Mets -1.5 (-106), while the Orioles are getting +1.5 (-115). The Mets feel like the wiser bet in this situation, but only one of their last three wins has been by at least two runs.
I’d PASS on the run line and instead make a wager on the moneyline suggested above.
Over/Under (O/U)
The Over/Under shifted from 9.5 to 10.5 runs after open, but either way, I’m still looking at the Under. The Orioles provide Wojciechowski with very little run support typically, and the Mets rank 21st in runs scored despite being fifth in batting average.
The total has gone Under in six of the Orioles’ last eight games, and it’ll go to seven of the last nine Tuesday night. Bet the UNDER 10.5 (-110).
