Grizzlies at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 124, Grizzlies 119

Moneyline

The WARRIORS (-150) are a solid play on their home court. Golden State easily took care of business in the last meeting with the Grizzlies in San Francisco on Dec. 25.

The Grizz have really hit the skids in the first 3 games of the road trip, and it won’t get better against the Dubs.

Against the spread

The WARRIORS -2.5 (-115) are looking to bounce back after a loss last time out and that’s good news as Golden State is 11-5 ATS in the past 16 games after a straight-up loss.

The Grizzlies have failed to cover the past 4 games overall and are 1-5 ATS in the past 6 against teams with a losing overall record. Memphis is also just 8-17 ATS in the past 25 games on the road.

Over/Under

OVER 242.5 (-115) is the lean, but play a half-unit at best.

It’s all about the Over for the Warriors lately, going 5-1-1 in the past 7 games overall, 4-0 in their past 4 following games a straight-up loss and 8-2 in their past 10 after a non-cover, too.

The Over is 8-3 in the past 11 games for the Grizzlies while also cashing in 8 of the past 11 outings when allowing the opposition to hit the century mark last time out.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (20-11) and Golden State Warriors (15-18) meet Sunday at Chase Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Grizzlies vs. Warriors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Grizzlies covered the spread as 3-point favorites Friday in a 125-100 win at the Phoenix Suns. G Desmond Bane (toe) returned after missing 18 games and finished with 17 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field.

Memphis is 1-7 against the spread (ATS) in its last 8 road games vs. teams with a winning record at home.

The Warriors failed to cover as 10.5-point underdogs on Wednesday in a 143-113 loss at the Brooklyn Nets. Golden State allowed Brooklyn to score 91 points in the 1st half, the 3rd-most by any team in NBA history.

The Warriors are 11-5 ATS vs. the Grizzlies in their last 16 meetings in the Bay Area.

Grizzlies at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 111, Grizzlies 110

Moneyline

Sprinkle on WARRIORS (+220).

The Warriors are 1 of the best home teams in the league at 12-2. While Curry and Wiggins will be out, Golden State should be able to put together an inspired performance playing as an underdog on national television after a historically bad loss.

Memphis is far from an offensive juggernaut when playing away from home. The Grizzlies are 28th in the NBA in team true shooting percentage on the road, while Golden State perimeter threats Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson may be able to provide enough offense for the Warriors to pull off the upset.

Against the spread

BET WARRIORS +6.5 (+100).

The market is down on the Warriors for multiple reasons. However, the historic loss vs. the Nets should help Golden State come out extra focused on Christmas Day, while Bane’s return shouldn’t make the Grizzlies that much better in the short term.

No Curry for the Warriors is a big loss, but Poole and Thompson should be able to carry the load offensively and help the Warriors cover in a low-scoring game. Take the points with an extra-motivated Warriors team looking to bounce back after an embarrassing loss.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 231.5 (-108).

The Warriors are a well-coached team under Steve Kerr and should bounce back defensively after allowing 91 points in the 1st half vs. Brooklyn. Golden State’s focus on defense combined with the Grizzlies’ poor shooting on the road should help the Under hit Sunday. The Under is 6-0 in the Grizzlies’ last 6 road games vs. teams with a winning record at home. Memphis should struggle to put up a lot of points Christmas Day.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors Game 6 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (2-3) visit the Chase Center Friday to take on the Golden State Warriors (3-2) in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies are coming off a wildly impressive 134-95 victory over the Warriors. They owned the game from the start and ended with a +14 advantage on the offensive glass.0

Memphis has been aided in the series by the return of C Steven Adams. The No. 1 offensive rebounding team in the NBA during the regular season, the Grizzlies have found their angle to attack Golden State.

The Warriors come in with the second-best home record during the regular season and a 5-0 record during the playoffs, having covered just 1 of 2 home wins in this series.

Golden State has been led by 2-time MVP G Stephen Curry, who is averaging 26.7 points per game in the playoffs. It ranked second in eFG% during the regular season.

Grizzlies at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 112, Grizzlies 108

Money line

PASS.

If anything, Memphis’ payout at +280 is enticing, but I’d still rather play the spread and assume the Warriors, who are undefeated at home in the playoffs, close out the series.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET the GRIZZLIES +7.5 (-108).

The Grizzlies are one of the two top-6 teams in both offensive and defensive rating left in the playoffs (the Suns are the other). Along with their ability to excel without leading scorer Morant, Memphis will be playing for its postseason lives.

Coming off a 39-point victory and having abused the Warriors on the boards and forcing them into 22 turnovers, the Grizzlies should be primed to keep this game within 8.

Golden State hasn’t shot well this series and has too many flaws, mainly rebounding and turnovers, to bet on at this spread. The Warriors may be 5-0 at home in the playoffs, but are just 3-2 ATS.

The Grizzlies are too good on the boards to let this one be a blowout. Memphis +7.5 is my favorite bet of the game.

Over/Under

LEAN to the OVER 217.5 (-112).

The Over is 3-2 in this series with one team topping 130 in 2 of the last 3 games. Both teams shot under 32% from deep in the games that went under and both teams shot better than that throughout the course of the regular season.

Memphis also had 30 free throw attempts in Game 5 and should once again be able to own the paint. Golden State averaged the 3rd-most threes per game this season, so it’ll undoubtedly bounce back as well.

Combine it all, and I like the Over 217.5 here.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors Game 3 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors Game 3 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (1-1) visit the Golden State Warriors (1-1) Saturday for Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinals. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies are among two teams left in the playoffs with both an offensive and defensive rating in the top six during the regular season (the Phoenix Suns are the other).

That play was in full effect against the visiting Warriors in Game 2 in which PG Ja Morant dropped a game-high 47 points in a 106-101 victory. He single-handedly abused the Warriors’ “fast five” lineup.

The series now moves to Chase Center, where the Warriors posted the NBA’s second-best home record (31-10) during the regular season – the Suns were first at 32-9. The Dubs are significantly better at home and likely won’t shoot 7-for-38 from deep again as they did in Game 2.

Golden State will be without SG Gary Payton II, the primary defender on Morant in the opener, due to a fractured elbow. Payton was injured when hit from behind on a breakaway by SF Dillon Brooks in the first 3 minutes of Game 2. Brooks received a flagrant foul 2, was ejected and has been suspended for Saturday’s contest.

Grizzlies at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 112, Grizzlies 110

Money line

PASS.

The Warriors (-300) are entirely too expensive. The only playable side is the Grizzlies (+230), but considering the Warriors made a league-high 15 triples per game at home this season, I’d go with the points (spread) instead.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET GRIZZLIES +6.5 (-105).

I’m not ready to say the Grizzlies are better without Brooks, but trading Payton II for Brooks in Game 3 bodes well for Memphis. Brooks was a key player during the regular season but is shooting just 34.8% from the field during the playoffs.

Couple Payton II’s absence with the fact that the Warriors haven’t had an answer for Morant, and it seems crazy to lay 6.5 points with Golden State.

The Grizzlies had the fourth-best offensive rating and sixth-best defensive rating this season. While I expect the Warriors to come out on top, the Grizzlies will also have C Steven Adams, who was a key reason they led the league in offensive rebounding rate.

Combine it all, and GRIZZLIES +6.5 (-105) to cover is my favorite bet. Chances are this won’t end as a public-favorite play either. Pregame.com currently has 59% of the tickets on Golden State.

Over/Under

PASS.

Game 1 went Over the total, while Game 2 didn’t come close – finishing 21 points Under the 228 O/U line.

These two teams play at a sporadic pace that typically leans toward the style of the Grizzlies, who were one of the fastest-playing teams in the NBA.

If I had a lean here, it’s to the Under as I expect the Warriors to limit Morant, and Brooks’ willingness to take and sometimes make difficult shots will be missed.

With two top-six defenses, Under 225.5 (-110) is the safer play, but given the firepower for Golden State, it’s not a sure thing.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Thursday brings more NBA action as the Memphis Grizzlies (2-2) play the second game of a back-to-back on the road. They fave the Golden State Warriors (4-0). Thursday’s tip time is 10 p.m. ET at Chase Center. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs, Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies started the season 2-0 but now have lost two in a row. They are playing their fourth road game in a row. They were beaten 116-96 by the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night. Five players are averaging double figures in scoring on the team, but PG Ja Morant is lighting it up to start the year, averaging 30.5 points per game.

The Warriors are off to an unbeaten start, although they have trailed in every game at halftime. PG Stephen Curry is averaging 29.0 points per game to start the year, and three others are averaging more than 14 points per game.

Grizzlies at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 120, Warriors 115

Money line

The Grizzlies, before Wednesday night, were putting up points. They scored 118 or more in each of their first three games.

The Warriors have been playing with fire so far, having trailed at halftime in every game this season.

A Morant vs. Curry battle is going to be fun to watch. Tonight, expect the young star to have the edge as the Grizzlies look to end a two-game losing streak. The Warriors have to lose sometime. Tonight is likely that night.

Take the GRIZZLIES (+180).

Against the spread

The Grizzlies are 3-1 ATS this season and have been underdogs in three of four games so far. They are 2-1 ATS in those games.

The Warriors are 2-2 ATS and have been favored in their last three contests, going 1-2 ATS in those games. They have failed to cover the spread in either game that they were favored by at least four points.

Naturally, believing the Grizzlies will win this game outright, I’ve got them covering this game, which gives you a few points to play with if you don’t have the confidence level to bet the money line on them.

Take the GRIZZLIES +5.5 (-108).

Over/Under

The Grizzlies scored 118 or more points in each of their first three games before being held to 96 Wednesday night. Wednesday’s loss was their only game to stay Under the projected total this season.

The Warriors have had only one game go Over the projected total and have not hit the over in the last three games.

They have scored 115 points or more in three of their four games.

Tonight should be a basketfest, with Curry and Morant leading the way.

Take OVER 232.5 (-115).

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Golden State Warriors (38-33) host the Memphis Grizzlies (38-33) Sunday in a pivotal regular-season finale at Chase Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Grizzlies-Warriors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Whoever takes this game will become the 8-seed in the Western Conference play-in tournament, which gives that team two opportunities to clinch a playoff berth.

Both teams enter on five-game win streaks. Each team won Friday despite resting numerous key contributors in anticipation of this game.

Two of Golden State’s five recent wins came against the top-two teams in the West with a win over the Utah Jazz Monday then the Phoenix Suns the next night.

Memphis’ five-game winning streak is less impressive and it covered the spread in just two of those contests, but the Grizzlies are 13-3 against the spread in their last 16 games as underdogs.

These teams split a back-to-back March 19 and 20 but the NBA’s leading scorer in Warriors PG Stephen Curry (31.8 points per game) missed both meetings.

Grizzlies at Warriors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Grizzlies 118, Warriors 114

Money line (ML)

Slight “LEAN” to the GRIZZLIES (+145) for a quarter unit if at all because Memphis holds edges in ball security and rebounding.

The Grizzlies have the fifth-highest offensive rebounding rate and score the most second-chance points per game. The Warriors are 21st in defensive rebounding rate and allow the fourth-most second-chance points per game.

Also, Golden State is 24th in turnover rate and surrenders the sixth-most points off of turnovers per game whereas Memphis has the eighth-best defensive turnover rate in the NBA.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Definitely BET the GRIZZLIES +4 (-110) heavier than or instead of their money line since Memphis has the third-highest cover rate on the season and covered the spread in six of its last seven games as a road underdog.

Furthermore, this is a better spot for the Grizzlies who are 9-5 ATS in road games vs. teams with a winning record and 8-4 ATS when spotted between 3-4.5 points while the Warriors are just 2-5 ATS when laying that many points.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 228.5 (-110) for a half unit because both teams play at a top-10 fastest pace and both offenses have reasons to be confident.

The Grizzlies’ highly aggressive defense, rebounding efforts and Golden State’s second-worst defensive FTA/FG rate should equal some easy buckets; however, Memphis has a slightly below-average 3-point defense and that’s not going to cut it against the 3-point GOAT in a game as important as this one.

I’m expecting a big game out of Curry but for the Grizzlies to pull it out late.
