Rockets rookie Jalen Green featured in Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Mean Tweets’

Rockets rookie Jalen Green had his basketball IQ compared to that of a baby hamster in the 2022 NBA edition of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets.”

Though he is only 20 years old, Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green showed an impressive sense of maturity in recent weeks when he joined Bill Simmons on a podcast to put an end to an apparent controversy.

On Monday, as part of the 2022 NBA edition of Jimmy Kimmel’s popular “Mean Tweets” segment, Green took it a step further by showing an ability to laugh at a disparaging tweet about him. The segment debuted on ABC’s pregame show prior to Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals.

“Jalen Green has the basketball IQ of a baby hamster,” the tweet from a Miami Heat blogger on Dec. 31, 2021 reads.

Even at the time, it was relatively harsh, considering that Green was a 19-year-old NBA rookie. Nonetheless, the 6-foot-6 guard did struggle in his opening weeks in the league, which was to be expected.

But he certainly progressed in the calendar year 2022, punctuated by a historic scoring stretch late in the regular season that culminated in Green earning a spot on the NBA’s All-Rookie First Team.

Knowing what we know now, the tweet didn’t age well. But Green continues to show a good sense of humor and was willing to laugh it off. The full segment featuring numerous NBA players can be viewed below.

NBA players — including Shaq — read another round of savage ‘Mean Tweets’

These are so mean.

It’s one of the best modern traditions: Before the NBA Finals start, we get a round of NBA players reading mean tweets written about them courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

This one stars Shaquille O’Neal (who called out the tweeter’s mother in response), LaVar Ball, Grant Hill, Caron Butler, Khris Middleton, Kemba Walker, Domantas Sabonis, Kyle Lowry, Dwight Howard, Spencer Dinwiddie, Ja Morant, Brandon Ingram, Trae Young, Zach LaVine, and Pascal Siakam, and if I had to pick a trend, there were three insulting tweets about teeth, which is just weird (but maybe that’s what the producers wanted).

Here you go, enjoy!

Tom Brady got his very own, amazing edition of Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets

LOL

After seeing Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes read an eerily foreshadowing “Mean Tweet” earlier this week, I was fully expecting and looking forward to an all-new edition of Jimmy Kimmel NFL Mean Tweets … but we got something better.

On Thursday, Jimmy Kimmel Live! dropped an all-Tom Brady edition (I assume the other one will come on Friday?) that is just amazing, as you watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback read some very insulting tweets and have a laugh over them. That’s pretty good, considering some of these are really, really mean.

And as you’d expect: WARNING: there is some NSFW language ahead.

Patrick Mahomes read a ‘Mean Tweet’ that eerily foreshadowed Chiefs’ barbershop COVID scare

Whoa.

On Wednesday, we learned some crazy new details about the Kansas City Chiefs’ COVID scare that landed two players on the COVID-reserve list ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl LV.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the barber — who was scheduled to cut hair for over 20 Chiefs players and staff — was pulled from the job mid-haircut when a positive test result came in for the coronavirus. This barber was cutting center Daniel Kilgore’s hair at the time, but Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was also scheduled to see this barber.

The image of a Chiefs player only getting half a haircut was hilarious, especially when Kilgore got in on the joke.

But the entire situation hit another level when Jimmy Kimmel revealed the “Mean Tweet” that Mahomes read for the yearly NFL segment (a video that was taped well in advance).

Mahomes’ tweet was about a barber leaving halfway through his haircut.

That really is so weird. The Mean Tweets almost saw it coming.

NFL players — including Tom Brady — read another round of savage ‘Mean Tweets’

Its back again.

We’re right around the corner from Super Bowl 54, so of course Jimmy Kimmel had to drop another side-splitting edition of NFL Mean Tweets.

The fourth version of the Jimmy Kimmel Live classic has the best timing — just after Tom Brady posted that cryptic photo everyone is flipping out about and making jokes about.

You’ll see Brady respond to a tweet talking about his, er, chin dimple, Patrick Mahomes reading about his haircut and Joey Bosa thinking a tweet about his nose is “a good one.” It’s hilarious, as it always is.

As always, a WARNING: There’s some NSFW language in this.
