Graduate Mckenna Slavik’s final collegiate season is off to a hot start.

Already named to the Preseason All-ACC team, Slavik led the Tigers to a 3-0 sweep over Wofford (25-20, 28-26, 25-18) with 34 assists, moving her to fourth all-time on the school list.

She is quickly approaching 4,000 career assists, currently sitting at 3,863. She holds the fifth spot on Clemson’s all-time assists list and is on track to become one of only four Tigers to surpass the 4,000 milestone. Throughout 2022, she recorded over 40 assists in 17 matches and achieved 11 double-doubles.

The win over Wofford secured the tournament win of the Big Orange Bash and a 2-0 start on the year.

Freshman phenom Kennedy Wagner hit her stride in the second set clocking 10 kills with seven digs to keep the Tigers in the fight; Wagner went on to tally 17 kills and 10 digs on the match for her first collegiate double-double.

During the first two-thirds of the set, the Terriers and the Tigers exchanged points. However, Wofford managed to gain an advantage by going on a 3-0 run, making it 19-16. Clemson fought back with six kills from Wagner and an ace from Sophie Catalano, eventually tying the score at 24-all.

Slavik caught Wofford’s defense off guard and helped secure the final two kills for Clemson, winning set two with a score of 28-26.

The Tigers return to the net Wednesday against their in-state rival, South Carolina, in the Palmetto Series. The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on SEC+.
