[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Maryland Terrapins (4-7, 1-7 Big Ten) and No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions (10-1, 7-1) meet to close out their 2024 regular seasons Saturday. Kickoff from Beaver Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (Big Ten Network). Below, we look at Maryland vs. Penn State odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

Maryland lost 29-13 as a 4.5-point underdog at the Iowa Hawkeyes Saturday. The Terrapins were outgained 349-227 in total yards and also turned the ball over twice in the loss. The defense struggled also, allowing 273 rushing yards at the Terps suffered a fourth consecutive loss.

Penn State enters after narrowly escaping with a 26-25 win at the Minnesota Golden Gophers Saturday. The Nittany Lions failed to cover 11.5-point favorites vs. Minnesota. Penn State forced 2 turnovers, but the offense only converted 1 of 11 third-down attempts, which helped the Golden Gophers keep it close. QB Drew Allar threw for 244 yards with a touchdown, ran in for TD and engineered a 12-play, 72-yard drive — including 2 fourth-down conversions — on the final possession to run out the clock.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 1 Oregon Ducks (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) welcome the Maryland Terrapins (4-4, 1-4) to Autzen Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (Big Ten Network). Below, we look at Maryland vs. Oregon odds from BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds before making our expert college football picks and predictions later in the week.

The Ducks had a few narrow wins to start the season but have been rolling ever since. They are coming off a 38-17 victory as 14.5-point favorites at the Michigan Wolverines Saturday with the Over (45) hitting. Oregon’s most impressive victory was a 32-31 home win over the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes Oct. 12. The Ducks are led by Heisman candidate QB Dillon Gabriel, who has 2,665 passing yards (6th-best in the country) with 19 touchdown passes (tied for 13th) in 9 games.

Maryland is coming off a bye, which followed a 48-23 setback as a 6-point underdog at the Minnesota Golden Gophers Oct. 26 in Week 9 — the host Gophers hit the Over (45) by themselves. The Terrapins have struggled recently, winning just 1 of their last 4 games. They are 1-3 against the spread (ATS) as favorites and 2-2 ATS as underdogs. The Terrapins have been a one-man operation behind QB Billy Edwards, who has thrown for 2,314 yards (ranking 14th) with 13 TDs in 8 games.

Maryland vs. Oregon head-to-head

The Ducks and Terrapins have never played. This will be a first with the Ducks having joined the Big Ten Conference before the season.

The Terrapins technically have more national championships (one) than the Ducks (zero). Oregon has had success in its first Big Ten season, starting 6-0 in conference play.

While the Terrapins have had solid teams over the last few seasons, they are just 1-4 in conference play this year and have struggled immensely. Maryland has played two road conference games and has been outscored 90-51.

Below, we look at Maryland vs. Ohio State odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. Also see: SportsbookWire’s college football picks and predictions.

The Terrapins worked over Indiana 44-17 to stay unbeaten. Maryland hasn’t been tested much, winning all 5 games by at least 18 points, with the Terps covering each of the past 3 outings. However, this will be the 1st time this season that Maryland has been an underdog.

The Buckeyes are coming off their emotional last-second win at Notre Dame on Sept. 23 last time out. Ohio State had a chance to rest its early-season bumps and bruises, taking 2 weeks to prepare for QB Taulia Tagovailoa and the Terrapins.

Tagovailoa has completed 65.7% of his pass attempts for 1,464 yards, 13 TD and 3 INT in 5 games. He’ll face an Ohio State pass defense which ranks No. 5 nationally, yielding just 149.0 yards per game allowed through the air.

The Buckeyes got back on track with a 56-14 win over Indiana in Columbus Saturday, covering as 39-point favorites. Ohio State didn’t lose in the previous game, but it was held to just 21 points in a windy, blustery game at Northwestern, and had suffered consecutive ATS losses.

Ohio State RB Miyan Williams was carted off due to a leg injury against the Hoosiers, joining RB TreVeyon Henderson (foot) on the injured list.

The Terrapins were blanked at Penn State this past weekend, falling 30-0 as 11-point underdogs. Maryland has lost 2 games in a row, scoring just 10 points in the process. The Terps have also failed to cover each of the previous 5 outings while winning just 2 outright.

First look: Maryland at Michigan odds and lines

Looking at Saturday’s Maryland at Michigan college football odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Maryland Terrapins (3-0) travel to The Big House Saturday to take on the Michigan Wolverines (3-0) with kickoff in Ann Arbor at noon ET (FOX). Below, we look at Maryland vs. Michigan odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our college football picks and predictions.

Both teams come into this matchup undefeated, and both have scored a lot of points in the process. That is where the similarities end.

Maryland has given up points in their wins, including 27 last Saturday to SMU. Michigan has only given up a total of 13 points the entire season while trouncing the likes of Colorado State, Hawaii, and UConn.

This will be the first true test for a Michigan team that has finally decided on J.J. McCarthy as their starting QB. It will be interesting to see if Michigan can hold an offense like Maryland’s, under coach Mike Locksley, to under 2 TDs.

Michigan is No. 4 in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Maryland vs. Michigan head-to-head

Since joining the Big Ten, Maryland has been a non-factor. They had the unfortunate circumstance to be a member of the East division. This means annual battles against the big 3 of Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State.

In the last 2 games against Michigan, the Terrapins have lost by an average score of 48.5-12.5. These games have not been competitive. With Michigan on cruise control right now, it will be interesting to see if Maryland and QB Taulia Tagovailoa can make this game any closer than recent ones.

Michigan leads the all-time series 9-1, including a 5-1 record at home.

Pinstripe Bowl: Maryland vs. Virginia Tech odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Maryland vs. Virginia Tech Pinstripe Bowl odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Maryland Terrapins (6-6) meet the Virginia Tech Hokies (6-6) Wednesday at the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Maryland vs. Virginia Tech odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Terrapins finally secured bowl eligibility on the fourth try in the regular-season finale, topping Rutgers on the road by a 40-16 score Nov. 27. The win ended an ugly 1-6 SU/0-7 ATS slide from Oct. 1-Nov. 20. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games for the Terps.

The Hokies also ended up .500 but were a little more consistent down the stretch. Virginia Tech posted three wins in the final five games, including a 29-24 at rival Virginia, Nov. 27, as seven-point underdogs. Virginia Tech scored 26 or more points in the final three outings.

Virginia Tech enters this game rather shorthanded in the first game under interim head coach J.C. Price. Starting QB Braxton Burmeister enters the transfer portal, and will not play. QB Connor Blumrick will make the start. Blumrick completed just 7-of-16 passes for 42 yards this season.

WR/PR Tayvion Robinson entered the transfer portal, while WR Tre Turner opted out to get ready for the 2022 NFL Draft. Turner led the team with 40 grabs for 675 yards, and Robinson was second with 44 grabs, 559 yards and five scores.

Prediction

Maryland 27, Virginia Tech 18

Money line

MARYLAND (-180) isn’t a bad play if you don’t want to mess with the points. However, Virginia Tech (+145) is so shorthanded, with inexperience at key positions, that the Terrapins should be able to push through for a strong victory.

Against the spread

The play is MARYLAND -3.5 (-108) here. Yes, the Terps didn’t finish the regular season very well, but they also didn’t have the mass defections and upheaval like Virginia Tech +3.5 (-112) following the dismissal of Justin Puente. The Terrapins did have some players enter the transfer portal, but no players of real note, mostly depth options.

Over/Under

The UNDER 54.5 (-105) might be the best play on the board, as Virginia Tech is starting an inexperienced junior quarterback, who will not have the top two leading receivers. The Hokies are going to have an awful difficult time trying to put points on the board.

The Terrapins defense was poor this season, allowing 32.4 PPG. Most of the damage came through the air, but they’ll look like world beaters against Blumrick.
