Former Tennessee signee Marquez Bembry signed with UConn on national signing day Wednesday.
“A leader on the field and off the field,” UConn announced following Bembry’s signing.
The 6-foot-3, 232-pound linebacker signed with Tennessee in the Vols’ 2017 recruiting class under former head coach Butch Jones.
He transferred to Jones County Junior College after signing with Tennessee. Bembry did not play for Tennessee after not qualifying academically.
Bembry transferred from Jones County Junior College to Kentucky. He played for the Wildcats from 2019-21, totaling 29 tackles in 13 games.
He recorded one tackle against the Vols during the 2021 season. Tennessee defeated Kentucky, 45-42, at Kroger Field.
