Mandy Rose ‘not really sure’ about pro wrestling return, says she’s enjoying her life

Mandy Rose doesn’t seem to miss the travel and schedule from her WWE days.

When pro wrestlers leave the business, sometimes it’s out of sight, out of mind. That’s not the case with former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, who remains the subject of fascination among wrestling fans.

Rose was a surprising release by WWE last December, with news of her departure coming just a day after she dropped the NXT title to Roxanne Perez. Though WWE never officially confirmed the reason for her release, it was widely reported that it was due to the content on her FanTime page, which the company felt was “outside of the parameters” of her contract.

Though Rose has made it clear that she’s doing fine financially, she’s young enough at age 33 that many assumed she’d make her way back to pro wrestling. But as the one-year anniversary of her WWE release nears, she doesn’t appear to be in a hurry to do so.

Case in point: When asked by fans during a recent Instagram Q&A, Rose made it clear that she doesn’t miss the schedule and the constant travel (h/t Fightful for the transcription).

I don’t know when I’ll be returning to the ring. Not really sure if I’ll be returning to the ring. Not really sure if I’m not going to be returning to the ring. It’s really up in the air. I know it’s not the best answer, but it’s all I can say right now. I am enjoying my life, my freedom, my time. When you’re wrestling and on the road, it takes a toll on you, and I have to be committed to that if I want to get back into it, so we’ll see. I was on the road for like eight years and it was a blessing.

She added that it would take “the right phone calls” to come her way to consider joining AEW or Impact/TNA. That’s consistent with what she’s said earlier this year about the possibility.

Still, Rose hasn’t closed the door completely on returning to wrestling, so fans are going to keep pondering it. At least she can take some satisfaction in the idea that people enjoyed her in-ring work enough to keep hoping they will see it again.

Mandy Rose needs to receive ‘the right call’ to make in-ring return

Does Mandy Rose miss wrestling? Yes. But she’s no sure bet to return, whether it’s in WWE or elsewhere.

Not long ago, Mandy Rose reigned as NXT Women’s Champion for over a year and was one of the faces of WWE’s developmental brand — until the company released her the day after she dropped the title to Roxanne Perez on Dec. 14, reportedly due to posting explicit content on FanTime.

Within days of her departure, Rose allegedly earned $500,000 from her FanTime page, so financials did not appear to be an issue. She was even expected to clear $1 million at the time.

Nine months after leaving the ring, Rose is thriving with her OnlyFans page. She tells TMZ her new career has been “lucrative” and “life-changing.”

It’s been kind of life-changing, I must say … I’m really blessed, but I will say that I have a lot of financial freedom right now which is really amazing. That’s why I’m so grateful that I’m able to help my family right now and kind of rejuvenate their business they got going on, and just continue with my future.

When asked about a potential return to the ring, Rose said while she misses performing, current opportunities keep her occupied from wrestling.

I do miss performing. I miss the camaraderie. I miss the adrenaline rush, for sure. I can’t sit here and say ‘I don’t miss it.’ However, I am keeping myself super busy to not have to think about [returning to wrestling] as much. But I don’t know about the future. I am a free agent now, I’ve mentioned across social media that got out everywhere. If the right call comes around, and I feel like making an appearance and coming back to any kind of wrestling federation, I’m not saying it’s a no, but right now, I’m pretty busy. It’s got to be the right call.

Right now, Rose doesn’t sound optimistic about returning to the ring. With her OnlyFans, skincare line and other opportunities, it seems taking wrestling bumps and feuding with other women in the industry is not imminent. Although it may happen again one day, it currently seems unlikely.

A South Carolina man finds himself facing numerous charges after breaking into the Florida home of WWE Superstar Sonya Deville in an alleged kidnapping attempt.

Per Tampabay.com:

Investigators did not identify the victim, but the home where the suspect was arrested is owned by Daria Berenato, 26, who performs for WWE under the name Sonya Deville and stars in the E! cable channel reality TV series Total Divas.

Phillip A. Thomas II, 24, began planning the abduction eight months ago, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Thomas parked his car around midnight at Idlewild Church off Dale Mabry Highway and Van Dyke Road in Lutz and walked to a home on Pine Hammock Boulevard in the Promenade at Lake Park subdivision, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Thomas cut a hole in the patio screen and remained on the patio three to four hours while watching and listening through the windows. At 2:43 a.m., after the homeowner had gone to bed, Thomas entered the home through a sliding glass door, activating the alarm.

The homeowner looked out a window, spotted Thomas on the property, and fled with a guest in a car. The homeowner called 911.

Thomas was still in the house when deputies arrived. He was carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items and told deputies he was planning to take the homeowner hostage.

Thomas, who is listed as being an Applebee’s crew member, has been charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief. He was being held without bail.

“Our deputies are unveiling the suspect’s disturbing obsession with this homeowner who he had never met, but stalked on social media for years,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the news release. “It’s frightening to think of all the ways this incident could have played out had the home alarm not gone off and alerted the homeowner of an intruder.”

A Twitter account in Thomas’s name, @Phillip80400010, is focused almost exclusively with messages about Sonya Deville’s latest activities, including retweets from her account Saturday about upcoming WWE events.

WrestleMania 36: Otis got a kiss from Mandy Rose and WWE fans were so happy

The feel-good moment of WrestleMania 36.

One of the most enjoyable storylines heading into WrestleMania 36 was the feud between lovable big man Otis and Dolph Ziggler, who conspired with Sonya Deville to spoil Otis’ Valentine’s Day plans with Mandy Rose. It sounds ridiculous, because it was, but it led to the feel-good moment of WrestleMania on Sunday night.

Near the end of the match, Deville distracted the referee from outside, allowing Ziggler to land a devastating low blow on Otis and take control of the match. Mandy Rose showed up at the perfect time, though, and retaliated with a slap to Deville.

Rose then hit a low blow on Ziggler, allowing Otis to finish him off with his signature caterpillar elbow drop.

Rose celebrated in the ring with Otis, and gave him a long-awaited kiss. It was a moment that would have caused a stadium full of people to explode with joy, but we’ll have to settle for reactions on Twitter.
