A former Auburn defensive back is leaving the Plains.
After playing for Auburn from 2017-21, [autotag]Malcolm Askew[/autotag] joined the football support staff as a player personnel analyst. Well, he is moving up in the coaching ranks, he has joined the Georgia Southern coaching staff as a graduate assistant, he announced on Twitter.
The McCalla, Alabama native will be joining Clay Helton’s coaching staff to help coach the wide receivers, a position he has experience covering but never played in his time as a Tiger.
Askew, who was a member of Auburn’s 2017 signing class, made five tackles in 16 games during his time at Auburn. He made sure to thank [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and the rest of his coaching staff for his time with them in a second Tweet.
“Thank You Auburn, Coach Harsin, & Staff For The Opportunity To Work, Grow and Serve The Last 6 Months,” he wrote.
