The Kentucky football season is Malachi Wood (71) days away

Offensive lineman Malachi Wood is a potential left tackle of the future.

Coach Mark Stoops and his staff have worked on building an offensive line for 2024, but are always looking to set up for the future as well. One of the players that could play an important role down the line is tackle Malachi Wood.

Wood was a three star member of the 2023 recruiting class, and ranked as the 12th best prospect in the state of Kentucky by 247sports. They had him ranked as the 118th best tackle in the entire class as well.

With tremendous height, at 6’8″, and length, Wood certainly has the look of a left tackle. His weight is a little low at just 283 lbs, which could cause him to struggle to anchor against strong pass rushers in the SEC.

Wood may not contribute a lot in 2024, but with more work with the coaching staff, he could become much more important down the line. He could develop into a starting tackle, and Stoops and company would love for that to be the case.
