On July 11, [autotag]Makwan Amirkhani[/autotag] will face [autotag]Danny Henry[/autotag] at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi – also known as “Fight Island.”

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie after an initial report from Sportti. The person asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Winner of two of his past three, Amirkhani (15-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) is coming off a third-round stoppage loss to Shane Burgos this past November at UFC 244. Prior to that, he picked up back-to-back wins over Jason Knight and Chris Fishgold.

After scoring wins in his first two octagon bouts over Daniel Teymur and Hakeem Dawodu, Henry (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) was submitted in the first round by Dan Ige in March 2019 in London.

With the addition, the UFC 251 lineup includes:

MMA Junkie today verified the matchup between Amirkhani (15-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Grundy (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) with multiple people close to the situation following an initial report from BetSafe.com.

Amirkhani, 31, will attempt to rebound from the first knockout loss of his career. He was stopped by Shane Burgos at UFC 244 in November, snapping a two-fight winning streak for the Finnish fighter.

Grundy, 32, meanwhile, will attempt to carry momentum forward after pulling off an upset TKO of Nad Narimani at UFC on ESPN+ 5 in March in his octagon debut. It’ll have been more than a year since that fight by the time he competes again, but the Brit is riding a nine-fight winning streak.

UFC on ESPN+ 29 takes place March 21 at The O2 in London. The entire card streams on ESPN+.
