Are the Miami Dolphins considering trading Tua Tagovailoa?

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could be on the move after one season with the Miami Dolphins. His landing spot? Houston.

The Miami Dolphins‘ No. 5 overall selection from the 2020 NFL draft, Tua Tagovailoa, had his rookie season end in an unfortunate fashion – a 10-6 season without a potential run in the playoffs.

While his performance throughout his first season wsn’t enough to make headlines, it was far from terrible.

He completed 186 passes on 290 attempts for 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Why would the Dolphins look to trade the former Alabama star? After all, he was supposed to be the quarterback of the future for the AFC East franchise.

Well, another opportunity for the team may present itself with a veteran, more established quarterback.

Houston Texans star passer, and former Clemson Tiger, Deshaun Watson is reportedly going to request a trade to get out of Houston, which finished 4-12 in 2020.

The Texans are about to begin a rebuild. They let go of Bill O’Brien after four games in 2020, despite an offseason full of questionable moves.

If Houston wants to restart, they’ll need new, young talent. The Dolphins own the Texans’ first and second round selections for the 2021 draft. Could they target that and Tua?

There’s been no official word from either team, nor have there been any reports that link the two teams together.

However, NFL fans and analysts are beginning to piece together hypothetical trade scenarios between Miami and Houston.
