Orlando Magic at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Magic at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (14-25) and Golden State Warriors (20-19) meet Saturday at Chase Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Warriors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Magic failed to cover the spread as 6.5-point home underdogs 123-115 vs. the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday. F Paolo Banchero finished with 30 points and 9 rebounds, both team-highs, as Orlando dropped to 1-4 in its last 5 games. The Magic are 6-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 7 games vs. teams with a winning record.

The Warriors failed to cover as 6.5-point home favorites in a 122-119 loss vs. the Detroit Pistons Wednesday. G Klay Thompson scored a game-high 30 points as reigning Finals MVP G Stephen Curry (shoulder) missed his 10th-straight game. Golden State is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games.

Andre Iguodala (hip) is set to make his season debut Saturday vs. the Magic.

Magic at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 121, Magic 118

Moneyline

PASS.

The Warriors (-250) should be able to bounce back and win, but the price is too high for a team that may be starting to feel the effects of playing without its best player. Golden State was overperforming without Curry in the lineup, winning 5 straight home games, and it may be unrealistic to expect the remaining Warriors players to continue winning at such a high clip.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC +6.5 (-110).

The Magic are 4-1 ATS vs. the Warriors in their last 5 head-to-head meetings and are catching Golden State at a good time now that its 5-game winning streak has ended. Orlando did not cover vs. Memphis Thursday, but showed signs of life in the second half outscoring the Grizzlies 72-58.

Orlando won straight up as 9.5-point home underdogs 130-129 in the last head-to-head meeting Nov. 3, despite Curry dropping 39 points. While I don’t expect Orlando to win, the Magic should be able to keep this game within 2 possessions as the Warriors start to show signs of weakness playing without their No. 1 option. Take the points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 230.5 (-112).

The Over is 5-1 in the Warriors’ last 6 games after failing to cover in their previous game and 4-1 in Golden State’s last 5 games following a loss. The Over has hit in 3 of the last 4 meetings between these 2 teams, and Saturday’s matchup should be another high-scoring affair.
