Magic at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 107, 76ers 105

Moneyline

Maxey averaged 27.7 PPG in 3 games against Orlando last year. I really want to rock with Philly because I think Maxey could will this team to victory without Embiid and PG13. However, the Sixers don’t have the frontline to keep the Wagners under wraps.

Take TYRESE MAXEY OVER 25.5 POINTS (-110), and I would consider taking a chance on Maxey to hit 30 (+160).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread

As mentioned, I like the Sixers here, but I just can’t get over the hump to take the ML. So I’ll rock with Maxey to pull the cover here. Orlando beat them by 12 in Orlando last month, but Maxey watched that one from the sidelines. He’ll use that experience to lead the charge.

Take the SIXERS +5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Even without Banchero, the Magic have eclipsed 100 in 7 of 8 games, and the Over has cashed in 5 of those. The Sixers have hit the Over in 3 of 4.

This is a hittable number, and I look for a fast pace with Maxey running the point.

Take the OVER 207.5 (-115).

Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (20-31) battle the Philadelphia 76ers (32-17) Wednesday. Tip from Wells Fargo Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. 76ers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Magic beat Philadelphia 119-109 Monday, covering as a 9.5-point road underdog. They’ll again be in Philly to try to even up the season series, as the 76ers won 2 meetings in November. Orlando is 1-2 against the spread (ATS) against Philly this season. The Magic are 8-2 ATS over their last 10 games and 29-21-1 ATS on the season.

Despite that Philadelphia C Joel Embiid and G James Harden combined for 47 points Monday it couldn’t pick up the victory. Philly is 4-2 ATS over its last 6 games yet is just 5-5 ATS over its last 10, dipping slightly to 28-21 ATS on the season.

Magic at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 122, Magic 111

Moneyline

AVOID.

It is very unlikely the Magic (+325) snag 2 in a row from the Sixers, especially while on the road. I would pass on the moneyline despite that they just beat them Monday.

Against the spread

BET 76ERS -9.5 (-105).

The Sixers aren’t going to be embarrassed twice in a row on their home court. Orlando shot better from the line and from deep despite having season-long averages significantly lower than Philly in both. The Sixers are 16-10-1 ATS at home as well, so they have rewarded bettors at Wells Fargo Center.

The Magic allow 114.5 points per game (18th) yet held the Sixers to 109 Monday. Philadelphia should bounce back and cover at home. Back 76ERS -9.5 (-105).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 230.5 (-110).

Both teams have been better at hitting the projected Over this season.

The Magic are 27-24 O/U and have traded off hitting the Over and Under in their past 6 games — most recently an Under result — so they are primed for the Over to hit.

Philly is 7-3 O/U in its last 10 and, prior to Monday, had scored over 120 points in 3 straight games. It is 29-20 O/U on the season. Back the OVER 230.5 (-110).

Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (8-37) visit Wells Fargo Center Wednesday to take on the Philadelphia 76ers (25-18). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Magic vs. 76ers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Unlike last season, the 76ers have struggled at home.

Just 9-9, they’ll look to push that above .500 at home as the East’s lowest-ranked team comes to town. The Sixers are 22-21 against the spread (ATS). They rank 10th in offensive rating and 12th in defensive rating.

As for the Magic, they’ll enter as heavy underdogs.

They’ve been surprisingly better on the road, 6-21 as compared to 2-16 at home. Orlando has the 25th-ranked defense and 28th-ranked offense. It is just 20-25 ATS this season.

Magic at 76ers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 109, Magic 95

Money line

PASS.

No regular-season NBA favorite is worthy of betting on at -1000. Similarly, the Sixers are the far more dominant side and should come away with the win, making the Magic’s +600 price also not favorable for bettors.

Against the spread

LEAN to the 76ERS -12.5 (-108).

The Magic enter on a two-game losing streak with losses to the Mavericks by 16 Saturday and to the Trail Blazers by 10 Monday. As for the Sixers, they’re one of the hottest teams in the NBA, 8-2 over their last 10 games.

The Magic rank 17th in pace and play inefficiently, ranking 28th in true-shooting percentage. The Sixers are the opposite. They rank 11th in true-shooting and do not turn the ball over often.

While Orlando only lost at home to Philly 116-106 back on Jan. 5, the Magic did put six in double figures with PG Cole Anthony’s 26 points leading the way, only to still lose by 10. I’d back Orlando to return to their mean shot-making and for the Sixers to cover.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 213.5 (-108).

The O/U is 1-1 in the first two meetings between these two teams this season.

The latter of which was when Orlando dropped 106 with Anthony exploding. Given the Sixers’ top-15 defense, I wouldn’t expect to see that type of dominance from the inefficient guard.

Also, the Sixers rank 27th in pace, so they don’t typically get out and run, primarily playing through MVP candidate C Joel Embiid.

Philadelphia is just 16-25-2 O/U while Orlando is 22-23.

Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (4-17) travel to Wells Fargo Center Monday to take on the Philadelphia 76ers (10-10). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Magic vs. 76ers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

MVP finalist C Joel Embiid is back in action, but even 42 points from the superstar weren’t enough to get the 76ers the victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday.

The Sixers rank fifth in offensive rating and dead last in pace, so they play their style more often than not. They rank 11th in net rating (plus-1.3) and are 10-10 against the spread (ATS).

They take on a heavily-injured Orlando Magic team. Guard Cole Anthony and C Mo Bamba, whose statuses for Monday are out and questionable respectively, have led the Magic. Orlando is 8-13 ATS.

Magic at 76ers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 109, Magic 95

Money line

PASS on the money line.

Any regular-season NBA favorite is not worth -1400, and the +750 on the Magic isn’t worth chasing either as they’re without key players and would still likely be double-digit underdogs if they were in.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the 76ERS -13.5 (-112) as the better side. I just don’t know who is going to score for Orlando.

The Magic won’t have a player take the court who is averaging over 14 points per game. They already have the fourth-worst offensive rating and the third-worst true shooting percentage so even with Bamba and Anthony they’re not getting the job done.

The Sixers do get the job done but they play at the slowest pace in the league, so topping a 13.5-point spread may not be easy.

Philadelphia has a top-five offensive rating and is third in turnover ate. I’m leaning towards them getting the job done with those things in mind, given the injuries to Orlando.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 204.5 (-107) as the 76ers play at the slowest pace in the NBA. They just don’t get up and down the court.

With the return of Embiid and F Tobias Harris, both of whom play primarily half-court style basketball and not much in transition, their pace may actually slow even further. They shouldn’t put up too many points Monday.

The Magic may struggle around the rim with Bamba potentially being sidelined and Embiid in action. I’m not sure who will step up in Anthony’s absense, but it’s doubtful Orlando will have an efficient game on the road. Breaking 100 points will be a challenge for them.

The current total is around the combined average of the two teams and I think the Under is the better play when you factor in in the injuries.
