Julian Edelman has perfect reaction to Tom Brady landing on Madden cover

Julian Edelman always has the perfect, timely tweets ready to go.

For the second time in Tom Brady’s career, he’s made it onto the “Madden” cover.

Brady, alongside Patrick Mahomes, is featured on the “Madden NFL 22” cover in the “MVP Edition”. Brady’s first time was in 2018 and it’s just another accolade for the seven-time Super Bowl champion to collect. Brady won the Super Bowl in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year and he threw for 40 touchdowns in the regular season.

He’s came a long way since being drafted in the sixth round and former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman acknowledged that with a perfectly timed tweet. Brady went from “QB NO. 12” and having no picture on the game to likely the greatest to ever play.

Madden 22 covers feature 2 quarterbacks

The quarterbacks that met in the Super Bowl have earned cover honors for Madden 22

EA Sports revealed the covers for the Madden 22 edition of their legendary game Thursday.

The quarterbacks who met in the Super Bowl in February have been given the honors.

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is one and one-time Super Bowl ring owner Patrick Mahomes is the other.

No word on what reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers thinks about being left out of this elite group.

A little history lesson on the game: Madden NFL 22 marks the second time in three years that Mahomes has been on the game’s cover. Brady was on the cover of Madden NFL 18. Brady and Mahomes are the first to be on the Madden cover twice.

Josh Allen didn’t make the cover cut but the Buffalo Bills are still playing the game.

‘Madden 22’ trailer features Bobby Okereke stiff-armed by Derrick Henry

Okereke might not wanna watch the new Madden trailer.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Bobby Okereke will be stepping into a full-time starting role as the MIKE linebacker next to All-Pro Darius Leonard.

Apparently, that gig includes being on the receiving end of a truck stick from Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, which is what happened in a clip from the “Madden 22” trailer.

Why they gotta do my man like that? Okereke, a Stanford product, is smart enough to know you don’t go that high on Henry when going to make a tackle. I know, I know, it’s a trailer and they were just trying to emulate the ridiculous stiff-arm Henry put on Josh Norman.

But as the only Colts player to be featured in the trailer, we have to get fired up about something right? It is the middle of June after all.

On a side note, imagine if that was Darius Leonard getting stiff-armed by Henry. The world would never hear the end of it.

LOOK: ‘Madden 22’ trailer features Bears QB Justin Fields

In the new “Madden 22” trailer, you can catch a peek at Bears rookie QB Justin Fields.

The excitement surrounding Justin Fields’ arrival in Chicago has been at a consistent upwards trajectory since the Bears traded up to draft him with the 11th overall pick back in April.

While Bears fans have voiced their excitement plenty of times — whether that’s giving Fields a standing ovation at a Cubs game or Fields having three of the five top selling jerseys — the NFL surely has to be hoping for the charter franchise to finally have a star quarterback.

So it makes sense to see Fields appear in the new “Madden 22” trailer, where he’s mentioned among the change taking place in the NFL. The hope is that he can also change the long-standing quarterback narrative in Chicago and finally give the Bears franchise their first true franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman.

When Fields was asked to predict his Madden 22 rating, he thinks it will be between 78 and 81, “of course, because, rookies.”

You can watch the full trailer below, where Fields can be seen at the 0:19 and 0:32 marks.

Philadelphia Eagles have no players featured in the ‘Madden NFL 22’ trailer

Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes land the cover of ‘Madden NFL 2022’

The visuals for Madden 22 are out and after having Brandon Graham and a few other players featured in the trailer last summer, the Eagles were shut out from the visuals, with no Birds featured at all.

Super Bowl foes and star quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes graced the cover, while the game has added several amazing new features.

One NFL analyst wants Chase Young on the cover of Madden NFL 22

EA Sports released a hype video on Monday teasing the next cover athlete for the Madden NFL 22 video game.

EA Sports released a hype video on Monday teasing the next cover athlete for the Madden NFL 22 video game.

In the video, two goats are busting through barn doors with former Madden NFL 12 cover athlete Peyton Hillis, talking on the phone, petting the goats.

This led to much speculation over social media regarding the goats. Could Tom Brady be one of the goats (G.O.A.T.)? What about Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, or Aaron Donald?

On the Tuesday edition of “Good Morning Football,” each host was asked which athlete they would like to see on the cover of Madden NFL 22. Nate Burleson made it clear he would like to see Washington star defensive end, Chase Young on the cover.

Let’s go with a guy who was dominant — and I mean dominantin his rookie season. Every time he was on the field, it seemed like he was making a big play. His personality is bigger than life; his muscles are just as big.

Each of the four hosts picked their preferred cover athlete, and GMFB displayed a graphic with each choice.

Young looks pretty good on that cover.

While Burleson admitted that Young being on the cover of this year’s Madden might be a stretch, perhaps he could be on the cover of Madden 23 or Madden 24.

Burleson talked about how EA Sports will often select the league MVP or Super Bowl MVP for the cover, which makes sense. But, he also noted how sometimes they choose a guy for the future.

“But then occasionally, Madden will select a guy who is the future of the game. That’s why I believe Chase Young should don the cover of Madden,” Burleson said.

In the past, only two solo defensive players have graced the cover of Madden: Richard Sherman and Ray Lewis. On Madden NFL 10, Troy Polamalu shared the cover with Larry Fitzgerald.

Young may not be on this year’s Madden cover, but it’s clear Washington now has a player who could eventually grace the cover of the popular video game for the first time in franchise history.
