LSU offers 4-star power forward from Houston, Texas

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Sebastian Williams-Adams at this time, but Houston is a 17% favorite to land him per On3.

[autotag]Sebastian Williams-Adams[/autotag] is a 6-foot-7, 221-pound, 4-star power forward who plays for St. John’s High School. The St. John’s Mavericks finished the 2022 season 15-18 with a loss to St. Mark’s in the District tournament.

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Williams-Adams at this time, but Houston is a 17% favorite to land him per On3.

LSU basketball lands first 2024 commitment in forward Devon Pryor

The three-star Houston prospect ranks just outside the national top 200, per On3.

LSU men’s basketball coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] has added the first piece to his 2024 recruiting class.

On Tuesday, the Tigers landed a commitment from three-star forward [autotag]Devon Pryor[/autotag], a 6-foot-7 prospect from PSAT-XEA Academy in Houston. Though he hails from Texas, Pryor’s father is from Shreveport, and he grew up in a household of LSU fans.

The wing player is rated as a three-star by On3 and 247Sports, though he’s unranked by ESPN and Rivals. Per the On3 Industry Ranking, he’s the No. 204 overall player and No. 44 small forward in the 2024 class.

Still, he had a number of power conference offers including Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Virginia Tech and others.

LSU only signed two players in a 2023 class that ranked just 48th nationally. With Pryor’s addition, the 2024 class now ranks 33rd. McMahon needs to add more, but landing the Houston prospect is a good start.

4-star shooting guard includes LSU in his final 6

The Tigers made the cut for the top 50 prospect.

One of the top shooting guards in the country for the class of 2024, [autotag]Juke Harris[/autotag], has narrowed his decision down to six final schools, and the LSU Tigers made the cut.

LSU joins Miami, Kansas, Wake Forest, Tennessee and Virginia Tech on the list. According to On3, Wake Forest is a 32% favorite to land Harris.

The LSU Tigers are in their first season under new head coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag]. They got off to a great start, but things have come to a screeching halt recently as LSU has lost six games in a row and their offense has been abysmal during that stretch.

LSU scored only 56 points in three of those six games. Those numbers aren’t going to cut it when you are playing in one of the best conferences in college basketball.

With that being said, Harris sounds like just what the doctor ordered. He is the prescription for a struggling offense. You can plug him in on day one and he will produce points. McMahon will hope to bring him to Baton Rouge.

LSU offers 4-star small forward from Little Rock

Dallas Thomas is a top-50 prospect according to multiple services, but On3 lists Missouri as the favorite to land him.

[autotag]Dallas Thomas[/autotag] is a 6-foot-7, 170-pound small forward from the class of 2024. He is from Little Rock, Arkansas where he plays for the Parkview Patriots. The Patriots are 7-10 this season and 2-3 in conference play.

Thomas has no Crystal Ball projections at this time, but Missouri is a 67% favorite to land him per On3. In Matt McMahon’s first season as the head coach of the LSU Tigers, he has led the Tigers to a 12-5 record so far. They started out hot, going 12-1 before dropping their last four games.

Their last game was against Alabama and let’s just say it didn’t go well.

5-star LSU basketball target set to commit on Monday

The Tigers are in the mix for the No. 2 overall prospect in the country.

One of the best high school basketball players in the entire 2024 cycle is set to make his decision on Monday.

Shooting guard [autotag]Ian Jackson[/autotag] — a product of Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx — is a consensus five-star prospect and is rated as the No. 2 player in the country in both the 247Sports Composite and On3 Consensus Rankings. The Tigers are one of five schools that received an official visit from the premier player with the others being Kentucky, North Carolina, Oregon and Arkansas.

Kentucky is expected to land his commitment. The Wildcats hold a 93.3% chance of getting him on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, and he holds a Crystal Ball prediction for UK as well from back in December.

Landing a pledge from Jackson would be a pretty big surprise for LSU, but it would also be a massive addition for coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] if he can pull of something of a coup here.

LSU offers top 100 small forward from California

The Tigers offered top Zion Sensley, a 2024 prospect from Napa, California.

[autotag]Zion Sensley[/autotag] is a 2024, four-star, 6-foot-8, 195-pound, small forward from Napa, California, where he plays for Prolific Prep. The Prolific Prep Christian Crew are off to as hot of a start to their 2022 campaign as [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] and the LSU Tigers.

The Crew are 6-0 to start the season and have scored over 100 points in four out of six games. This comes as no surprise to a lot of people, as Maxpreps rated Prolific Prep as the No. 6 high school basketball team in the country back in October.

LSU doesn’t have any commitments for the 2024 recruiting class, but the new head coach, McMahon is just getting started with everything.

Five-star point guard set to decide between LSU, several others

Woodland Hills, California, prospect AJ Johnson will announce his commitment Monday. He has visited LSU and Texas.

The Tigers have a pair of basketball commits in the 2023 class in forward [autotag]Corey Chest[/autotag] and guard [autotag]Mike Williams[/autotag], but they will hope to add an elite player to that group.

Five-star point guard [autotag]AJ Johnson[/autotag] is set to announce his decision on Monday at noon CT. Johnson is a 6-foot-5, 170-pound player from Southern California Acadamey in Woodland Hills, California, and he ranks as the No. 14 player on the 247Sports Composite.

On3’s composite rankings list him at No. 16 nationally.

A combo guard who primarily plays the point, Johnson has already taken official visits to Texas and LSU, and he has also received interest from programs such as NC State, Louisville and USC. The Longhorns are currently seen as a heavy favorite, being given a 93.2% chance to land him.

Coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] signed the No. 16 recruiting class in the country last cycle. His haul in 2023 currently ranks just 45th, but adding a player like Johnson could certainly change that.

LSU offers 2024 four-star power forward

The Tigers are going after a top-30 player in next year’s cycle.

[autotag]Donnie Freeman[/autotag] is a 2024, four-star, 6-foot-8, 190-pound power forward from Washington, D.C., where he plays for St. John’s College High School. The St. John’s Cadets finished the 2021 season 15-13 with a loss to the Sidwell Friends Quakers in the AA state semifinals.

There are currently no crystal ball projections for Freeman, but Iowa is a 55% favorite to land the talented power forward, per On3. [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] is entering his first season as the head coach of the LSU Tigers, and his tenure got off to a nice start with a win in his first game of the season.

LSU currently doesn’t have any commits for the 2024 recruiting class.

LSU offers 2024 wing from Connecticut

Tyler Betsey is considered a top-100 prospect.

[autotag]Tyler Betsey[/autotag] is a 2024, four-star, small forward from Windsor, Connecticut, where he played for the Windsor Warriors before he transferred this offseason to St. Thomas More Prep School.

The Warriors finished last season 20-5 with a loss in the third round of the state playoffs to Notre Dame. New head coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] has been working all off-season to prepare his team for the 2022 season.

The Tigers start their season on November 9, 2022, against Kansas City. LSU fans are anxious and excited to get the McMahon era begun on the Bayou, hopefully, it will bring a lot of great wins and maybe some championships.

Four-star point guard lists LSU in his top-six

The Tigers have made an impression on one of the top prospects in 2024.

[autotag]John Mobley Jr.[/autotag] is a 2024 four-star, 6-foot, 150-pound point guard from Las Vegas where he plays for Bishop Gorman High School. On Tuesday, he released a top six that included the Tigers

Mobley currently has no Crystal Ball projections per 247, but Creighton and Ohio State lead the way according to On3. LSU basketball coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] currently doesn’t have any commitments for the 2024 class and only has one for the 2023 class.

Mobley was offered by LSU on July 14, and the new head coach has been hard at work trying to get him to take his talents to the Bayou. He will for sure be a guy to watch for the next two seasons before he finally signs his letter of intent to play at the next level.

Official practice for the 2022 basketball season started Sept. 28 as the Tigers get ready to take on Kansas City on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
