Both of these teams have been tripped up in recent weeks, with the Rams losing to the Dolphins in Week 8 and the Bucs getting blown out by the Saints in Week 9. But they both got back on track last Sunday with big wins.

However, the Buccaneers are a tough matchup for L.A., especially with it being on the road on the East Coast. If the Buccaneers can score in the second half against the Rams unlike other opponents, they’ll win this game. Take the BUCCANEERS (-223).

Against the spread (?)

The Buccaneers don’t often cover when facing the NFC West, going 5-13 ATS against that division in their last 18 games, according to OddsShark. This will be a close game as neither team should overpower the other, making it tough for the Bucs to cover the 4.5-point spread. Take the RAMS +4.5 (-110) to cover and keep it to within 3 points.

Over/Under (?)

The Over/Under isn’t particularly high despite these teams both being able to score in a hurry. Their defenses are especially good, which will prevent the total from going over the 47.5 combined points. Take the UNDER 48.5 (-110), which has hit in each of the Rams’ last six games.

The Rams are somewhat surprisingly the favorites in this game despite being one game behind the Seahawks in the standings. That’s because they had a week off, are getting healthy and are playing at home against a team that just traveled to Buffalo in Week 9.

I like the RAMS (-134) to win outright over the Seahawks and pull into a tie atop the NFC West standings.

Against the spread (?)

With the spread being only 1.5 points in the Rams’ favor, it probably won’t end up making much of a difference on Sunday. Los Angeles is 2-1 ATS in its last three games against the Seahawks and 4-4 ATS overall this year.

The RAMS -2.5 (-115) will win by a few points, enough to cover the 1.5-point spread on Sunday afternoon.

Over/Under (?)

Everything about this game says to take the Over. The Seahawks can’t stop anyone, they’re scoring at a higher rate than any team in the NFL, and the Rams haven’t scored fewer than 28 points against them since 2017.

  • Weather forecast of rain and wind.

However, the defense is playing so well right now that I fully expect them to keep Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa in check. Take the RAMS (-176) to win straight-up.

Against the spread (?)

Surprisingly, the Rams are only 3.5-point favorites. That’s much lower than expected, especially after they just crushed the 5-1 Chicago Bears at home in Week 7. Tagovailoa is a talented quarterback and the unknown that comes with him starting under center has the spread lower, but the Rams clearly look like a better team. Take the RAMS -3.5 (-106) to cover the spread.

Over/Under (?)

With inclement weather possible and both defenses playing better than the offenses, all signs point toward the Under being the pick here. Both teams will try to run the ball, especially if the wind picks up and impacts the aerial attacks. The total isn’t very high, but it’ll still come in UNDER 45.5 (-106).

Rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins (3-3) host the Los Angeles Rams (5-2) Sunday afternoon of Week 8 at Hard Rock Stadium. The game kicks off in the early window at 1 p.m. ET. Below, we take a look at the early Week 8 betting odds and lines at BetMGM Sportsbook.

The Rams are coming off a dominant 24-10 win over the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, to keep pace in the NFC West. The defense has been outstanding this season, and allowed zero touchdowns to the Bears offense in Week 7. QB Jared Goff and the offense have held up their end, too, ranking 10th in total yards per game (385.7).

The Dolphins are transitioning to a new starting quarterback, with Tagovailoa taking over for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. They had a bye in Week 7, so they’ve had some extra time to prepare for the Rams, but it’s hard to get a rookie ready for the presence of DT Aaron Donald. Miami has looked better than expected, though, jumping out to a 3-3 start.
