Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Los Angeles Lakers (23-28) take on the New York Knicks (27-24) Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Lakers vs. Knicks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Lakers lost 121-104 to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday and fell short of covering as 9-point underdogs on the road. Los Angeles is on a 2-game losing skid as it has dropped the first 2 games of a 5-game road trip.

The Knicks also lost to the Nets last time out, falling 122-115 on Saturday and failing to cover as 1.5-point favorites on the road. New York has lost 5 of its last 7 games.

Tuesday is the first of 2 meetings between these teams this season.

Lakers at Knicks picks and predictions

Prediction

Lakers 116, Knicks 112

Moneyline

Assuming that F LeBron James and F Anthony Davis are active after resting for Monday’s contest, LAKERS (+125) is an intriguing wager. I wouldn’t advise taking Los Angeles to win if either (or both) James and Davis are ruled out when the injury report is submitted.

Against the spread

LAKERS +3.5 (-115) is another bet to consider if James and Davis are active. The Knicks are 12-13 at home and we know players love to put on a show at Madison Square Garden.

The Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games against a team with a losing home record and the Knicks are a dismal 9-14-2 ATS at home this season.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 230.5 (-110).

The Knicks play at the 4th-slowest pace in the NBA, so it’s a massive pace-down game for the Lakers.

The Lakers have gone Under in 5 of their last 6 games following a loss and the Knicks are 6-1 to the Under in their last 7 games playing on 2 days of rest.

Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Los Angeles Lakers (33-20) visit the New York Knicks (27-27) at Madison Square Garden on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Lakers-Knicks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Lakers continue to be without LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but the others have kept the team’s head above water. The shorthanded Lakers polished off the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Saturday by a 126-101 score as 11.5-point underdogs, and they have covered each of the past three.

The Knicks enter with two straight wins against the Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors. They pushed past the Raps by a 102-96 score Sunday as three-point favorites at MSG as the Under connected.

Lakers at Knicks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Knicks 113, Lakers 102

Money line (ML)

The KNICKS (-150) are a solid play at home straight up against the Lakers (+125). Who would be able to write or read that sentence a year ago and do it with a straight face? But it’s true, as New York is playing good ball lately, while L.A. has its two best players out, and the remaining crew is banged up, too.

Against the spread (ATS)

The KNICKS -3 (-110) are worth a look at MSG on their home floor. They topped the Raptors and Grizzlies in the past two at home, and they’re looking for just their second win streak of three or more games at home this season. New York is also on a 5-0 ATS run overall.

The Lakers +3 (-110) have been erratic, as they have alternated wins and losses in each of the past six outings. They were awfully impressive in Brooklyn on Saturday, but it will be tough to replicate those results again.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 205.5 (-110) is the best play on the board here. A line of 205.5 is ultra-low in this day and age of NBA basketball. The Lakers are on a 3-0 Over run, while averaging 113.3 PPG during the span. This won’t be end-to-end action, as the Knicks rank No. 1 in defensive scoring average, field-goal percentage and three-pointer percentage, but it will easily be at least 215 or higher.
