With the Los Angeles Clippers 114-101 loss on Friday, the 11th season for former UCLA Bruins star Russell Westbrook came to an end. It was not a banner night for Westbrook, as he scored just 6 points in 9 minutes played for the Clippers.
The 35-year-old saw his time on the court dwindle late in the season. He finished playing 68 games, starting 11 of them. He averaged more than 22 minutes per game, and scored 11.1 points, with 4.5 assists and 5 rebounds per game.
The former first-round pick is on his 6th team in his career. He has a player option for the 2024-2025 season which would earn him $4,027,525. He is expected to pick up that option, but from there, it’s anyone’s guess what the Clippers, a team that lost in the first round for the second straight season, will do.
Westbrook was expected to hold the starting point guard role this season, but started just 11 games.
The offseason in the NBA is expected to be a wild and crazy one, and it will be interesting to follow where Westbrook plays his final seasons in the league.
