- The Lancers of Longwood are coming off a 91-89 loss against The Citadel last time out on Saturday, unable to win or cover in its first game as a favorite this season. Their only win came Dec. 8 over North Carolina A&T, 77-60.
- The Hokies lost 75-55 to Penn State on Dec. 8 in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, but that’s their only setback of the season. They’re on a two-game win streak with covers against both Clemson and Coppin State. This Va. Tech team also has a quality win over Villanova, 81-73 in overtime back on Nov. 28 as the Over connected.
- These teams have a common opponent, Radford University. The Highlanders beat Longwood in a doubleheader Dec. 14-15, winning by one and by nine, while Virginia Tech dumped Radford 77-62 in the opener on Nov. 25.
