The Nebraska Cornhuskers have announced their 2024 Big Ten Volleyball Days attendees. Players Lindsay Krause and Kennedi Orr will join head coach John Cook in Chicago, IL, on August 6.

This will be the first time that Krause and Orr have attended the media days. Last year, Coach Cook was joined by Merritt Beason and Lexi Rodriguez.

The two-day event will run from August 5 & 6 at the Big Ten Network Studios. Nine schools will be featured on each day of the annual gathering.

Nebraska is coming off a 2023 season that saw the Huskers finish with a 33-2 record and a trip to the NCAA Championship Game. They will start the 2024 season on Tuesday, August 27, against Kentucky at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2.

Nebraska volleyballs completes sweep over No. 13 Penn State

The Huskers concluded their weekend of matches by squaring off with No. 13 Penn State.

The Huskers concluded their weekend of matches by squaring off with No. 13 Penn State. The Nittany Lions came into Lincoln with a nine-game winning streak, but Nebraska snapped it with a clean sweep (25-22, 25-22, 25-19).

The Huskers battled with Penn State throughout the match and came out on top in each set. Nebraska finished the match with 46 kills off 108 attacks. The Nittany Lions finished with just 32 kills off 111 attacks.

Merritt Beason, Lindsay Krause and freshman Harper Murray acted as the Huskers’ driving force. The trio combined for 36 kills off 85 attacks and 15 digs. Beason and Krause both racked up 13 kills while Murray delivered 10.

Freshman Bergen Reilly put together another big performance as the team’s setter, finishing with 33 assists. Lexi Rodriguez also delivered as libero, putting up a season-high 18 digs in the win.

Nebraska is now 17-0 and will hit the road once again for its next match. The Huskers will travel to Illinois to take on Northwestern. The match is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday and can be viewed on B1G+.

Husker outside hitter earns Big Ten Volleyball Player of the Week

On Monday, a Nebraska volleyball player was named the Big Ten Player of the Week.

On Monday, a Nebraska volleyball player was named the Big Ten Player of the Week. Outside hitter Lindsay Krause earned the honor from the conference’s home office.

The junior helped Nebraska with back-to-back conference road victories over Michigan State and Michigan. Krause had 3.43 kills per set on a .458 hitting percentage.

The Papillion, Nebraska native also had 24 kills and just two hitting errors in 48 swings. The Cornhuskers hold a 15-0 record with a 6-0 mark in the Big Ten.

No. 2 Nebraska will prepare to play host to Michigan State this Friday at 6:00 p.m.
