On Thursday, the Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team added two former Virgina Tech players to the roster via transfer. On Friday, former Hokies recruit Lexi Blue decided to attend Kentucky instead as well.
Blue was recruited by new Kentucky women’s coach Kenny Brooks to play for Virginia Tech. A four-star recruit in the 2024 class, she comes in as the 38th ranked player in the class and announced her decision to become a Wildcat on Instagram.

ESPN previously listed Blue as one of the top shooters in her class, an ability that will get her on the floor early and often.
Blue joins a growing list of players who Kenny Brooks has lured away from Virginia Tech and to Kentucky. Georgia Amoore and Clara Strack announced they were transferring, and junior college transfer Amelia Hassett decided to join Brooks in Lexington as well.
The Wildcats roster is going to be much different next year, and should be for the better. They’ve already added quality players, and Brooks isn’t done yet.
