Eagles protect 4 practice squad players for season opener vs. Atlanta

The regular season is finally upon us and as the Eagles prepare for Week 1 at Atlanta, the team is protecting four practice squad players

The Eagles and Falcons will meet in the regular-season opener for both team’s and Mike Kaye of NJ.com is reporting that Jordan Howard is among four players being protected from the practice squad.

Joining Howard are safety Elijah Riley, offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark, and speedy wideout, John Hightower.

Howard is the best pass protector on the roster at the running back position and could be an option for a callup, while Riley and Hightower both offer special teams reps as well.

Clark would be the fifth tackle if added to the active roster.

Le’Raven Clark is returning to Philadelphia to join the Eagles practice squad despite having offers from other clubs around the NFL.

Clark spent his first five years playing with the Indianapolis Colts, and in 2020, he appeared in 148 offensive snaps over 12 games, and he made starts at both the right and left tackle before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.

After activating Le’Raven Clark off of the PUP list, the Eagles are continuing to reduce the roster to 85 players by Tuesday afternoon. Former UCF running back and Eagles wide receiver Adrian Killins was waived on Saturday morning.

Killins Jr. signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

The Eagles just added more depth to their offensive line, activating offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark off the PUP list.

Philadelphia also waived wide receiver Adrian Killins and tight end Caleb Wilson, as the Eagles work to get their roster down to the 85-player limit by Tuesday, August 17.
