Leland Honeyman Jr. joins Young’s Motorsports in NASCAR Xfinity Series for 2024

Young’s Motorsports announced on Wednesday that it will field a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series car with Leland Honeyman Jr. in 2024.

[autotag]Young’s Motorsports[/autotag] ran its first full-time season in the NASCAR Truck Series during the 2014 season but has never exceeded the level. However, that will change for the 2024 NASCAR season, 10 years after the team’s full-time debut. Young’s Motorsports announced on Wednesday that it will field a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series entry with [autotag]Leland Honeyman Jr.[/autotag]

Honeyman will drive the No. 42 Xfinity car full-time with Andrew Abbott as his crew chief. Abbott served as Honeyman’s crew chief while with Young’s Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series East during the 2022 season. In 2023, the 18-year-old driver competed in eight Xfinity Series races with a best finish of 21st place with Alpha Prime Racing at the Charlotte ROVAL.

If Young’s Motorsports was going to make the jump to the Xfinity Series, Honeyman was the perfect driver for the job. The Young’s Motorsports driver has potential and should grow with the organization in this journey. It will be interesting to see how Honeyman and the NASCAR team perform in their first full-time Xfinity Series season, as expectations shouldn’t be too high.
