The “New York Sack Exchange” jerseys are here to stay. Per a report by Jake Asman, the jerseys that were introduced last season as the Jets’ “legacy” uniforms will become permanent uniforms going forward for the Jets.
I’ve been told by several people that the #Jets are going to make the legacy jerseys permanent this offseason now that the 5 year rule is up. Plus, Chris Johnson told @Bklyn929 at the HOF ceremony last summer that this was the plan too.
It’s a done deal. ✅ https://t.co/WRv05sbNvX

The Jets wore the Legacy jerseys twice last season — Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills and Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs, both primetime games. The jerseys honor the jerseys and teams from the 1980s, including the famed New York Sack Exchange defensive line of Mark Gastineau, Joe Klecko, Marty Lyons and Abdul Salaam.
The uniforms immediately became very popular so it makes a lot of sense for the Jets to include them in their permanent jersey rotation.
