Lane Johnson exits Eagles matchup vs. Saints with concussion symptoms

The Eagles could be forced to finish Week 3 without both starters on the right side of the offensive line.  Mekhi Becton was forced to exit with an arm injury, and All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson was forced to exit and get an evaluation for a concussion.

Johnson’s status will be something to watch, as the star right tackle has missed time with three separate concussions during his career. Tyler Steen was inserted at right guard, while Fred Johnson was inserted at right tackle.

Lane Johnson to start vs. Dolphins after clearing concussion protocol

The Philadelphia Eagles received some good news on Friday, with the news that Lane Johnson has cleared concussion protocol and will start against the Miami Dolphins.

Johnson left the Eagles loss to the New England Patriots in the second quarter and wound up missing the Seahawks game as well. Without Johnson in the lineup, the Eagles struggled to protect Carson Wentz or jump-start a run game in back-to-back losses.

As the Eagles defense gets healthy, players on the offensive side of the ball are banged up.

On Alshon Jeffery, Pederson stated that the wideout is expected to take part in individual drills, but won’t take part in any teamwork due to an ankle injury he suffered in the team’s win over the Chicago Bears.

Howard still isn’t cleared for contact and is expected to take part in individual work but no team drills.

Lane Johnson is still in the concussion protocol and Andre Dillard will take reps at the right tackle position.
