A veces parece que la mitad de las cosas que hace las hace con su estilo propio, sin seguir reglas. Todo el tiempo hace los pases, los tiros y el dribleo de forma realmente divertida. Pero el viernes en el juego contra los Orlando Magic sacó sus mejores trucos para sorprender a los fans y nos dio un espectáculo maravilloso.

Warriors select playmaking point guard in new mock draft from USA TODAY

In the latest 2020 NBA mock draft from USA TODAY, the Golden State Warriors land playmaking point guard LaMelo Ball with the top pick.

Another day, another mock draft for the Golden State Warriors.

By the late stages of draft season, nearly every top prospect has been listed alongside the Warriors in mock predictions for the No. 2 overall pick.

Players like Memphis big James Wiseman, Georgia’s Anthony Edwards, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Deni Avdija and Iowa State’s Tyrese Haliburton have been listed alongside the Warriors in recent mock drafts.

In the latest USA TODAY mock draft from Scott Gleeson, Jeff Zillgitt and Mark Medina, the Warriors land a creative point guard in the first round. With the No. 2 pick in USA TODAY’s mock, the Warriors select LaMelo Ball.

According to USA TODAY’s mock, Ball’s intriguing traits give him “franchise-changing potential.”

The 6-7 point guard played only 12 games in Australia’s National Basketball League, but it was enough to entice a plethora of NBA scouts and rewrite the narrative his father had poorly written. He has a quick-trigger jumper that still needs accuracy, but his floor vision and court savvy give him franchise-changing potential.

During his 12 games in the NBL, the 19-year-old point guard tallied 17 points on 37.5% shooting from the field with 7.6 boards, 6.8 assists, 1.6 steals. As a 3-point shooter, Ball shot 25% on 6.7 attempts from beyond the arc per contest.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Ball is “tentatively scheduled” to interview with the Warriors next week.

With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green on the roster, the Warriors are in a unique situation for a team on the clock at the top of the NBA draft. Most teams with high picks have time to wait as prospects develop. However, the Warriors are trying to reopen their championship window as soon as next season.

After playing seasons in Australia’s NBL and Lithuania’s LKL, Ball is one of the few prospects to have some professional basketball experience on his resume. With a short offseason potentially on the docket, the 19-year-old’s past could help him transition to the NBA level faster than other prospects.

As he learns from Curry, the Chino Hill’s product could bring a much-needed dose of playmaking to Golden State’s second unit. Along with Golden State’s lack of secondary playmaking, the Warriors will need a reliable ball-handler behind Curry as the two-time Most Valuable Player makes his return from a significant hand injury.

While his shot selection could use improvement, Ball’s exciting creativity, pace, ball-handling and experience could appeal to the Warriors.

According to Jonathan Givony of ESPN, top draft prospect LaMelo Ball is “tentatively scheduled” to interview with the Warriors next week.

With the 2020 edition of the NBA Draft approaching, the Golden State Warriors are entering their final stages of homework. Before Bob Myers and Steve Kerr are on the clock with the No. 2 overall selection on Nov. 18, prospects are beginning to meet with Warriors brass for pre-draft interviews.

Prospects like Iowa State’s Tyrese Haliburton, Ratiopharm Ulm’s Killian Hayes and Penn State’s Lamar Stevens have been linked to the Warriors for interviews. According to reports, the Warriors have also recently seen Memphis’ James Wiseman, Georgia’s Anthony Edwards and Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Deni Avdija for workouts.

Next up in Golden State’s slate of interviews is one of the top playmakers in the 2020 draft class. According to Jonathan Givony of ESPN, top draft prospect LaMelo Ball is “tentatively scheduled” to interview with the Warriors next week.

Warriors trade down with Knicks in latest NBA Mock Draft from CBS Sports

In a new NBA Mock Draft from CBS Sports, the Golden State Warriors landed Israel’s Deni Avdija after trading back with the New York Knicks.

As the remaining eight teams progress through the second round of the Orlando Bubble playoffs, the Golden State Warriors have turned their attention to the NBA Draft. After registering a league-worst 15-50 record, the Warriors are slated to be on the clock in the top five for the first time since 2002.

Following the NBA Draft Lottery, Bob Myers and Steve Kerr found out they will be on the clock with the No. 2 selection on October 16. With the order set, NBA Mock Drafts can be slightly more accurate when predicting what the Warriors could do with their pick.

Instead of slating Golden State with a prospect in the latest CBS Sports Mock Draft, Colin Ward-Henninger had the Warriors dealing the No. 2 overall pick to the New York Knicks. The Knicks moved up to select point guard LaMelo Ball with the second selection.

Fast forward a handful of picks and the Golden State Warriors were back on the clock. With the No. 8 pick, the Warriors landed Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Deni Avdija. According to Ward-Henninger, Avdija is “tailor-made” for the Golden State’s system.

In 33 games in the Israeli BSL, Avdija averaged 12.9 points on 52.6% shooting from the field with 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 block per contest. With his impressive pace, vision and passing, the 6-foot-9 forward could serve as a playmaking option for  Kerr alongside Eric Paschall in the second unit. At only 19-years-old, Avdija has time to continue developing while learning from Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

While the league caps off the postseason at Disney World, the Warriors will have plenty of time in their extended offseason to study the prospect pool leading up to October’s draft.
