Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a magical 2019 season, breaking both franchise and league records en route to the NFL’s MVP award. While Jackson is one of the favorites to win the award in 2020 as well, at least one oddsmaker is expecting his passing stats to come back down to Earth at the same time.

BetMGM has set the over/under for Jackson’s stats in 2020 for those looking to bet. At 3,249.5 passing yards, it would be an increase of 122.5 from last season. However, the 26.5 passing touchdowns would be a decrease of 9.5 from last year. Considering Jackson sat out all of Week 17 as well as the fourth quarter of five blowout wins, these could be viewed as excellent odds for Ravens fans that want to bet some money, winning $91 on a $100 bet.

Even if BetMGM’s odds have hit the totals right on the mark, they’d still be impressive performances when compared to what quarterbacks did last year. At 26.5 passing touchdowns, Jackson would have finished eighth in the NFL.

Still, it can’t help but feel like a slight against Jackson and the Ravens. Top quarterbacks like Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Patrick Mahomes all have higher over/under totals for passing yards and touchdown passes. With Baltimore adding more weapons for Jackson in the 2020 NFL Draft, there’s seemingly no reason for a regression other than oddsmakers expect the 2019 NFL MVP to struggle a little more in his third season.

Then again, an oddsmaker doubting is the perfect recipe for some big gains if you’re willing to put the money up.
