Packers release OLB La’Darius Hamilton from 90-man roster

The Packers released outside linebacker La’Darius Hamilton on Wednesday, opening a spot on the 90-man roster.

The Green Bay Packers released outside linebacker La’Darius Hamilton from the team’s 90-man roster on Wednesday.

Hamilton, 24, played in nine total games and 120 total snaps (88 on defense) for the Packers over the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He produced four tackles and two quarterback hits.

Hamilton spent all of the 2022 season on the practice squad. He was elevated for games against the Washington Commanders (Week 7), Dallas Cowboys (Week 10) and Tennessee Titans (Week 11).

The Packers originally signed Hamilton, an undrafted free agent out of North Texas, off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad in September of 2021.

Hamilton’s release opens a roster spot in Green Bay. Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers claimed linebacker Arron Mosby, an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State who played in three games for the Carolina Panthers last season. Mosby will need to pass a physical in Green Bay before joining the official roster.

2020 NFL Draft: 4 edge rushers the Jets could target in later rounds

Jets Wire takes a look four edge rushers the Jets could potentially target in the later rounds of the 2020 NFL draft.

It’s safe to assume the Jets won’t be in the market for an edge rusher with the No. 11 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but that does not mean Joe Douglas and company will not look to address the position later on in the draft.

New York has lacked an elite pass rusher since the days of John Abraham. This year’s draft class is not exactly stacked with pass rushers as it has been in the past, but there are still plenty of solid players available for the taking.

So, who could the Jets target in the later rounds of the draft? Let’s take a look.

Curtis Weaver is the kind of player Joe Douglas would love to have on his team.

Billed as a high character workhorse with an endless motor, Weaver has all of the intangibles Douglas is looking for as he reshapes the Jets’ roster. Factor in his elite levels of production (52 tackles, 13.5 sacks) and you have a player New York could select as early as the third round.
