Before the November international break, there were a lot of questions about Barcelona heading into a brutal three-week schedule that would make or break the team’s season. Barcelona needed to win every game to not only prove how good it is, but to stay alive in the league and in Europe. And boy is the team answering the call: Barça has won all five games in that brutal schedule. Now Barça has a chance to separate itself from Real Madrid by beating the team in El Clásico next Wednesday.

Before that, though, Barcelona has to travel to Anoeta Stadium to face Real Sociedad, a team enjoying a fantastic start to the season that could end with a Champions League bid. It wasn’t long ago that Barça fans knew this was a loss because the Catalans went 10 years without a win away to Sociedad. Now they’ve won the last three to fully break the “Anoeta Curse”, but they haven’t faced a Real Sociedad team this good in a long time. Both teams love to attack. Sociedad is quite good at home, but Barça is on fire and looking for a big win before El Clásico.

How to Watch Club America vs Monarcas Morelia, Liga MX Semifinal Live Stream, Liguilla Schedule, US TV Channel, Start Time

Watch Club America vs Monarcas Morelia Live Online.

Very few fans saw this coming. Monarcas Morelia, a team that has won Liga MX only a single time in club history, is a draw away from advancing to the 2019 Apertura Final. After a 2-0 victory at home in the first leg, Morelia visit perennial Liga MX favorites Club América in Mexico City on Sunday night to vie for a spot in the final.

The first leg of the semifinal was emotional for Monarcas. In Club América, they faced a team boasting 13 Liga MX titles and an undeniable wealth of talent. Truly, these teams are at the opposite end of the spectrum historically. An early score sent the Morelia crowd into a frenzy from the start – a frenzy that crescendoed after a beautiful game-killing goal which resulted from a flourish of fantastic buildup play.

This Apertura, both teams are slightly surprising semifinalists. Club América finished sixth in the table while Morelia followed them in seventh with 27 points. Monarcas opened La Liguilla with a wild 3-3 draw against No. 2 León, who had a chance to confirm its status as favorites with a second leg at home. However, Monarcas prevailed with a 2-1 win, which included a last-minute León goal disallowed by VAR that would have sent the team home. After getting all the drama it could handle, Monarcas is arguably the best team left in the tournament.

América looked all but out after a 2-1 home loss to Tigres in the first leg. Then the team pulled off an amazing comeback in the second leg with a 4-2 win. That come-from-behind triumph against the defending champions should give the team a giant confidence boost going into Sunday’s match. The only question is whether a 2-0 deficit is insurmountable.

But here’s the funny thing, Necaxa will face Monterrey, who stunned the entire country with a spectacular 6-3 aggregate victory over No. 1 seed Santos Laguna. Monterrey comes into this one riding an 11-game unbeaten streak. When: Saturday, December 7

TV: beIN SPORTS

Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Barcelona comes into this one in good spirits having won its last four games in all competitions. The latest 1-0 triumph over Atlético Madrid away from home kept the leaders in front of Real Madrid and served as a major statement that this team will not give up despite an inconsistent season and plenty of questions over the coaching. Barça has won all six home games in La Liga and will try to make it seven this weekend.

Mallorca is the only team in the league without a point on the road and has just one win during the last five league matches. This is a team struggling with the reality of a step up in competition after cruising through the second division last year. Mallorca will have to face Lionel Messi, who is on fire and will play for the first time since winning his sixth Ballon D’or. While it may be a mismatch on paper, seeing Messi play is always exciting.

Something’s just not right for Barcelona this season. After several months of transfer sagas and failed negotiations involving Neymar over the summer, the atmosphere and performances surrounding the Catalonia giants have been weird. Despite all the negativity regarding its pedestrian showing this season, Barcelona still finds itself atop just narrowly. This just goes to show how high the bar has been set for this prestigious club.

Antoine Griezmann was their huge offseason signing, while the club’s top players all wanted to see Neymar return. The Frenchman’s introduction into the lineup hasn’t gone smoothly, but he did score a goal in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League win over Dortmund, along with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Disappointing signings are something Atletico Madrid can relate to. After selling both Griezmann and Rodri for huge fees this summer, the team spent quite a bit on Portuguese youngster Joao Felix. Everything went so well for Atleti in the preseason with Felix and the entire squad immediately clicking. Unfortunately, that early success didn’t translate to competitive matches. Felix has struggled with ineffectiveness and injuries, while the overall results leave them on the outside of the title race looking in. A huge win over Barca at home is just what the team needs to get back on track.

Watch the Liga MX Quarterfinals Live Online.

After 18 matches of the exciting regular-season action, the Apertura 2019 Liga MX championship stage is upon us with four intriguing quarterfinal matchups. The Liguilla always delivers some of the most dramatic and intense moments in Mexican soccer and this season’s playoffs should be no different.

Club Leon, who finished in second place in the regular season is in search of its third Liga MX title and first since 2014 as it takes on Morelia in its opening round matchup. One of the most in-form Mexican stars currently is Leon striker JJ Macias. The striker has emerged as a legitimate option for Tata Martino and the Mexico national team. If Leon is to make a run at a third championship, it’ll need big things from its burgeoning star. These two clubs met once in the Apertura with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.

Queretaro is looking to breakthrough among the Liga MX elite. The team is appearing in the playoffs for the first time in a year and is still in search of its first championship. Winning from the fourth seed will be no easy task. Neither will have to deal with Necaxa forward Mauro Quiroga, who was the joint top scorer in the regular season with 12 goals. If Queretaro can keep the Argentinian quiet, the team will like its chances of advancing.

Top-seeded Santos Laguna is the most decorated club in this year’s playoffs with six total titles to its name. A seventh title is within reach and would cap off a very good season for Los Guerreros. Meanwhile, Monterrey has struggled mightily this campaign after capturing the Concacaf Champions League crown earlier this year. While its regular season was disappointing, the three-time Liga MX champs clearly have the talent to knock off any team at any time.

When it comes to pedigree and experience in these types of tournaments, both Tigres and Club America are neck and neck with a combined 10 Liga MX titles. Led by stars such as Andre-Pierre Gignac and Enner Valencia, Tigres has developed a reputation as the big spending, luxury club of Mexico. Only another trophy in the team’s cabinet will suffice. On the other hand, America won this competition last season and will be desperate to defend its crown.

Barcelona vs. Leganes

When: Saturday, November 23

Time: 7:00 a.m. ET

TV: beIN SPORTS

Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)

Barcelona has had a very inconsistent season and fans all around the world are not happy. They’re calling for manager Ernesto Valverde’s head and want players like Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Luis Suárez to be gone as soon as possible. For all of that to happen, though, the club must go through tragedy on the pitch, something bad enough to provoke huge changes. Due to a brutal schedule, in a very realistic scenario, Barça could be out of the Champions League and behind its biggest rivals after losing El Clásico to Real Madrid, and it would be nearly impossible to keep things as they are if all of that takes place.

Obviously, the players and the coach don’t want tragedy. They must start the tough stretch with a statement of intent, and facing the bottom of the table Leganés away from home where Barça has historically had success is a perfect way. Get a big win and gain some confidence before the first tough game in that schedule against Borussia Dortmund at home. This team has been so inconsistent and so bad on the road, however, that even Leganés can beat them. Barça is under pressure, and they must respond.
