Tchouameni rejected Mbappe’s plea to join PSG

Mbappe did his best for PSG, but Tchouameni made his choice

Aurélien Tchouameni just joined Real Madrid, but according to the young France midfielder, Kylian Mbappe tried his best to lure him to Paris Saint-Germain.

Tchouameni moved to Real Madrid in a €100 million deal last week and will wear the number 18 shirt, but during his official unveiling today in Madrid, the move didn’t come without Mbappe attempting some salesmanship.

“Kylian decided to stay at PSG and he already knew I was going to leave Monaco and wanted to know if I could go to PSG,” Tchouameni told reporters. “I told him I wanted Madrid.”

Mbappe wasn’t the only France player making appeals to Tchouameni, as the 22-year-old midfielder said that Karim Benzema and Eduardo Camavinga helped him make his choice.

“I have been lucky enough to speak with Benzema and Camavinga. In the case of Camavinga, we have seen how he has improved in his first year,” said Tchouameni. “I am going to be lucky enough to play for the club with the best striker in the world. When the negotiations progressed, he wrote to me and he asked me if he could help me.”

Mbappe stays! Superstar forward snubs Real Madrid to sign PSG contract extension

After a long-running saga, the 23-year-old has rejected a move to Spain and opted to stay in Paris

Kylian Mbappe has signed a three-year contract extension with PSG, spurning Real Madrid to stay at the French champion.

Mbappe’s contract was set to expire next month and Madrid made a major push to sign one of world soccer’s biggest stars on a free transfer.

But Mbappe has now confirmed he will stay with PSG in a deal through 2025.

In a long-running saga with plenty of twists and turns, Mbappe nearly joined Madrid last summer but saw PSG reject the chance to cash in one its most valuable asset.

Though it appeared Madrid was in pole position to land the France striker, he has now opted to to stay with PSG, the club he joined in 2017 from Monaco.

Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari revealed on Friday that her son had agreements in place with both PSG and Real Madrid.

Mbappe’s time at PSG

Despite the presence of Neymar and this year, Lionel Messi, Mbappe has grown into PSG’s best an most important player in recent seasons.

Mbappe ended the 2021-22 campaign atop the Ligue 1 goal-scoring charts with 25 and assist chart with 17, winning the league’s player of the season award while leading PSG to another title.

Why Kylian Mbappé choosing to stay with Paris Saint-German is such a huge deal, explained

Kylian Mbappé is keeping the power with PSG.

For nearly a calendar year since Lionel Messi chose to sign with Paris Saint-Germain in August, questions have been floating around about Kylian Mbappé’s future with the club.

It seemed pretty clear that his future was going to be with Real Madrid with the club in hot pursuit of him last summer. They’d made a legitimate run at him and things actually seemed close at one point.

But, now, here we are. Mbappé isn’t going anywhere. The most incredible young talent in the football world has signed a new deal with PSG that’ll keep him with the club until 2025, according to Fabrizio Romano.

This is a pretty big deal. It completely shifts the balance of power in football. I know that sounds weird since he’s staying, but it makes sense.

The Decision: Mbappe’s mother says he has agreements with both PSG and Real Madrid

The superstar forward is done negotiating, and now the world awaits his decision

Kylian Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari has revealed that her son has agreements in place with both PSG and Real Madrid, and now the decision is up to him.

Mbappe’s PSG contract will expire next month and the French champion is doing everything possible to keep its superstar around past the end of the current season.

But Real Madrid has been strongly linked with the 23-year-old for some time and has been expected to sign one of world soccer’s biggest talents to a massive contract.

French publication L’Equipe announced on Thursday that Mbappe is expected to reveal his decision on Sunday in a moment that could be reminiscent of LeBron James’ infamous “The Decision” – in which he declared on national TV that he would “take my talents to South Beach” and join the Miami Heat in 2010.

Now Lamari has revealed that Mbappe currently has agreements in place with both of his suitors, and that all meetings and negotiations between the three sides have concluded.

“We have an agreement with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Kylian will now decide,” Lamari told Kora Plus.

“The two offers from PSG and Real Madrid are almost identical. It’s up to Kylian now, he will make a decision.

“There are no new meetings in order to negotiate Kylian’s future, those are over.”

Where will Mbappe land?

Mbappe nearly joined Real Madrid prior to the current season but PSG refused to let go of its prized asset – despite the threat of losing him on a free transfer the following summer.

The striker has marked himself as one of the top players in the world since joining PSG from Monaco in 2017, scoring 168 goals for the club in 216 appearances.

There have recently been mixed reports on which way Mbappe was leaning. ESPN reported on Friday that there is growing “pessimism” at Madrid after earlier in the week saying that PSG had given up on keeping the France star.

It appears that Mbappe won’t keep us waiting much longer.
