The 49ers might be without nickel cornerback K’Waun Williams in Week 10 vs. the New Orleans Saints. Matt Barrows of the Athletic on Thursday reported Williams suffered a high ankle sprain in the 49ers’ 34-17 loss to the Packers.
Williams exited the game early and was seen by reporters at the game on the sideline in a helmet. There was initially no report on an injury for the cornerback. He was listed as questionable coming out of halftime with an ankle injury and never returned to the lineup.
This would be the second time Williams has missed time with an injury. He suffered a knee sprain in Week 4 that landed him on Injured Reserve. Jamar Taylor took his place Thursday and figures to fill in if Williams misses any games.
Strong safety Jaquiski Tartt also missed the second half Thursday. He was ruled out with a foot injury, but there was no update from head coach Kyle Shanahan after the game.
