The transfer portal entry chronicles are ending after Wednesday, Jan. 3, but until then, be prepared for the unexpected, good or bad. For Texas A&M, head coach Mike Elko has continued shore of several depth spots on both sides of the ball, and even though close to the entire O-line is set to return, depth is still an issue.
Looking to make multiple additions at guard and tackle, Elko could soon land one of the more experienced interior veterans from the Group of Five, as former Ohio guard Kurt Danneker, who recently received an offer from A&M last month, will visit College Station this week.
According to On3s’ Pete Nakos, Danneker, in combination with his CSTAT visit, will also visit Baylor as the grad transfer is looking to finish his collegiate career in the Lone Star State after four seasons with the Bobcats.
As a two-year starter at primarily left guard, Danneker’s best season came in 2022, helping Ohio set a single-game record on offense with 624 yards in a win against Fordham and earning Academic All-MAC honors. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing over 334 pounds, Danneker believes that either Baylor or Texas A&M can continue his development and help him reach his dream of playing on Sundays.
