Knicks at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 119, Knicks 110

Moneyline

PASS.

The Suns, especially at home, should come out on top, but at -240, there isn’t any value playing them to win outright. Even New York at +200 doesn’t have much value considering the Knicks are 4-5 on the road and taking on a top Western Conference opponent.

Against the spread

BET SUNS -6.5 (-110).

When Paul is out, G Cameron Payne has stepped up adequately, so his absence should be less of a concern. Backing Phoenix is easy considering it is 1 of 2 teams with a top-8 offensive and defensive net rating.

The Suns will have the best player on the court and will also be at home. Phoenix is a terrific 6-2 ATS at home this season and is 7-1 straight up at Footprint Center.

The Knicks are also on the 4th game of a 5-game road trip which is undoubtedly going to be tiring for a roster that relies heavily on their top 3 scoring options.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 226.5 (-105).

The Knicks will likely be without Robinson, who is their best rim protector. They do rank 9th in pace, so they should be able to push the ball, and with Payne instead of Paul, the Suns are more likely to keep the tempo high.

The Suns also aren’t a great defensive rebounding team, ranking 20th in defensive rebounding rate while the Knicks crash the glass at a high rate, sitting 8th in offensive rebounding rate.

Expect New York to get ample 2nd chances. That said, Phoenix has scored 130 or more in 2 straight games and has gone Over the projected total in 3 straight.

New York Knicks at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s New York Knicks at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The struggling New York Knicks (25-37) play the second game of their seven-game road trip Friday against the shorthanded Phoenix Suns (50-12). Tip-off from Footprint Center is 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Knicks vs. Suns odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Knicks have lost all three games since the All-Star break and have lost six in a row overall. They have just one win in their last 11 outings and are 3-16 in their last 19 games. They have only one road win since Jan. 15.

Booker is out under health and safety protocols and will return soon, while Paul was slated to miss six to eight weeks with a thumb injury suffered Feb. 16 and should be back before the playoffs begin.

Knicks at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 115, Knicks 103

Money line

The Knicks have only three wins in their last 19 games and only one road win since the middle of January.

The Suns have the best home record in the NBA this season at 27-7. They beat the Knicks 118-97 on the road Nov. 26.

Betting the Knicks for the upset isn’t wise, but betting the Suns on the money line alone isn’t enough value to be a good wager. PASS on the money line unless you include it in a parlay.

Against the spread

The Knicks are 26-36 ATS this season overall and 13-17 ATS on the road and have only covered the spread once in their last 10 games. They have not covered the spread at all during their six-game skid.

The Suns are 2-2 ATS since the All-Star break and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games. They are only 16-18 ATS at home but are coming off a 120-90 win over the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday without Booker or Paul in the lineup.

Take the SUNS -6.5 (-120).

Over/Under

The Knicks are the fourth-lowest scoring team in the league with an average of 105.1 points per game. They have reached 110 only once in their last six games and that took overtime.

The Suns have scored 110 or more in eight of their last 10 games.

Will they score enough and can New York keep up?

I don’t think so.

Take UNDER 223.5 (-108).

The Suns are 4-2 ATS over their last six games, while the Knicks are 17-2 ATS in their last 19 games. They are also 21-12 ATS on the road.

With Crowder out for the Suns, Julius Randle will be hard to contain.

Take KNICKS +7 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Suns now have the fourth-highest Over percentage in the league at 56.1%. The Knicks are 30-36 O/U but the Over has been common for both teams lately.
