Prediction
Nuggets 116, Knicks 109
Moneyline (ML)
Both teams enter on a two-game win streak, but for the Knicks (+450), it’s just the first time all season they’ve won consecutive games. The two victories — both on the road — were decided by narrow margins, beating the Golden State Warriors 124-122 in overtime Wednesday and topping the Sacramento Kings 103-101 Friday. They’re now 3-10 on the road for the season as they wrap a three-game Western Conference swing.
The Nuggets (-625) would be the play if it weren’t for the cost-prohibitive odds which return a profit of just $1.60 on a $10 bet for the outright win. The bet to make will be the spread.
Against the Spread (ATS)
The KNICKS (+10.5, -106) should be backed when spotted double-digit points. While the Nuggets are 10-3 at home for the season, they’re 5-5 over their last 10 games. They had lost three in a row on the road before starting their five-game homestand 2-0. New York is 13-13 against the spread overall and 7-6 on the road. Denver is 11-11 overall and 7-6 at home.
New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Knicks to stay within 10 points in a loss or win outright would return a profit of $9.43.
Over/Under (O/U)
While the Nuggets are without a key scorer in Millsap, they’re more likely to miss him on the defensive end in the second half of the back-to-back. Take the OVER 206.5 (-129). The two teams have hit the Under more than any other squad in the NBA, with the Nuggets falling an average of 5 points below the projected totals.
The Knicks will be able to put up points against the tired, and shorthanded, Nuggets. Denver will be able to do enough on offense against a New York side allowing 111.2 points per game.
