Kirby and the Forgotten Land comes out soon – here’s why you should get excited.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches very soon, and we can safely say that we’re excited. We’ve only been able to dabble in the demo thus far, but everything is cute, light, and so incredibly cute. Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches this month, March 25, and Nintendo has released a brand new playable demo and trailer which showcases brand new areas, powers, and gives us more context on how Kirby found himself in a strange new world.
Kirby’s traditional 2D perspective has been shifted to 3D after being pulled into a strange portal and landing in an entirely new place. Yes, this is also the concept for the recent Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and every isekai anime in existence.
The previously revealed – and heavily memed – Mouthful Mode takes a spotlight in this trailer, and showcases powers we’ve seen, such as Ring Mouth and Arch Mouth, in addition to new abilities including Stairs Mouth, Dome Mouth, and Pipe Mouth. That will always be strange to read back.
The demo for Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available now and includes the first three levels of the game to play. The entire game can be played in co-op with a single friend, making it the ideal Kirby game to play with a younger sibling or one of your children.
In addition to Mouthful Mode Kirby still has his copy abilities, and the trailer shows him using them in a variety of situations, including against large, powerful boss creatures. Each copy ability can even be powered up to make them more effective against tougher monsters.
Even your Kirby amiibo are compatible here and can deliver items to you in-game for a quick boost if you’re in a tough situation.
The full Kirby and the Forgotten Land trailer can be viewed below, and the game demo is now available to download on Nintendo Switch via the eShop. Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches on March 25, and we’ll be playing it as soon as possible. Just as soon as we’re done with Elden Ring guides.

We’re not sure if the traditional Q4 games glut has come early or late this year, but we’re rolling with it. Following a fine February that saw one of the greatest RPGs of modern times arrive in Elden Ring, stellar action-adventure worldbuilding in Horizon Forbidden West, and what feels like 100 other great games released the same month, March feels similarly packed.
First-party titles are sauntering onto the catwalk, including a certain Gran Turismo 7 and Kirby’s first-ever 3D experience, and they’re flanked by fascinating indies, series reboots and – well, look, we’re not even sure how to categorize Ghostwire Tokyo. But that, too. It’s a month for careful consideration of gaming funds, and here are the titles you should know about before you spend a dime.
Did you know that Kirby, the pink puff that whimsically swallows men whole, is coming back? Well, he is, and a new trailer is here to showcase his skills.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is coming out on March 25 for Nintendo Switch. It’ll also celebrate Kirby’s 30th anniversary, meaning this adorable creature has been frolicking about for longer than most of his fans have been alive. Wild, that.
On Wednesday, Nintendo released a new trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, highlighting some of our titular hero’s unique abilities, such as the Ranger, which allows him to pick-off enemies from a safe distance. Meanwhile, the drill lets Kirby burrow underground like a ravenous sandworm.
The trailer also shows off how co-op multiplayer will work. It’s a single-system affair, meaning you and a buddy will have to partake in old-school couch co-op. Watch the trailer below to see it in action.
Well, it’s not short on cutesy bits at all. Not that we would expect anything less from one of Nintendo’s giant mascots. It’ll be interesting to see how Kirby and the Forgotten Land manages open-world sections since that’ll be a first for the series. Either way, we can’t wait to try it out for ourselves.
