Armando Bacot’s brother is starting to draw attention as a recruit

King Bacot, the brother of UNC basketball standout Armando Bacot, is starting to make a name for himself.

Armando Bacot will wrap up his North Carolina career this year after five seasons with the program. As Bacot and the Tar Heels look to capture a national championship in April, he’s cementing his status as a legend.

And the Bacot name may not be done at North Carolina or in college basketball.

Bacot’s little brother, King Bacot, is a 2029 recruit and while it’s a long ways away from recruitment in that class picking up, King is starting to draw some attention while playing on Team Loaded 2029.

Jeff Bendel of Phenom Hoop Report wrote on Bacot, who is still in middle school:

“Every few years, you’ll come across a middle-school prospect who already has the world in their hands. The talent, status, and everything that comes with being regarded as an elite at an early age. Think of guys like Mikey Williams, Bronny James, and Aden Holloway, for example. Well, that’s become somewhat of the norm for King Bacot over the years. …

“Bacot truly makes the game look effortless. He’s able to shred opposing defense without even breaking a bead of sweat. The IQ, passing instincts, and scoring ability are all at an extremely (high) level for a player at his age. Bacot sees the game multiple steps ahead of his peers.

“Bacot can truly score from anywhere on the floor. Whether open or highly contested, every attempt he takes looks like it’s going in. He’s a crafty ball-handler, brilliant playmaker, and polished scoring option who displays poise and a calm demeanor at all times.”

That’s some high praise for a prospect that is years away from college.

Still, he’s a name worth watching over the years, especially with the ties to the Tar Heels’ program. You have to think that Hubert Davis and his staff will have a good shot at landing him when he’s ready to commit to a college due to the familiarity with the family.

Brother of UNC star Armando Bacot shows off his basketball ability

The younger brother of UNC basketball star Armando Bacot, King Bacot, shows off his talented basketball ability.

In today’s world of recruiting, it’s never ‘too early’ to get involved with a high-profile recruit. While that’s not necessarily the case with one player who is connected to the UNC basketball program, it’s an intriguing player to watch.

King Bacot, brother or UNC star [autotag]Armando Bacot[/autotag], is just in sixth grade but has emerged as one of the top middle school players in the country.

He is even rated the top overall player in the class of 2029 by Top 25 Scouts. While there is a long way to go before any type of recruitment begins for Bacot, having a close connection to the Tar Heels programs certainly doesn’t hurt.

Following in his older bother’s footsteps, Armando Bacot was a standout player in Virginia before transferring in high school to national powerhouse IMG Academy (Fla.).

It should be fun to watch the younger Bacot continue to develop his game over the next few years before his recruitment should begin.
